Holosun is an American and Chinese manufacturer of small arms accessories and related goods based in California.
History
In 2013 Holosun was established in California. Their initial focus was on budget price weapons optics, although they faced general skepticism their low price point gained them market share. The quality of Holosun products although originally poor improved significantly through the 2010s to the point where it began to rival more established manufacturers.[1]
One of Holosun's innovations is “shake awake” where a motion sensor in the optic will power on the optic when it senses motion and power down when it does not sense motion for an extended period of time.[2]

Controversies
Standalone research revealed that Holosun is potentially owned and operated by Huanic Corporation, a Chinese manufacturer of Optics that sells to the People's Liberation Army. During the company's upbringing it was co-located with another company called Surpass Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Huanic, before both companies relocated to California. One of the founders of Holosun, Li Tian, is also one of the founders of Surpass Technologies. A second founder of Holosun, Sun Wenhui, is potentially affiliated with the CEO of Surpass, Sun Jianhua who is also subsequently the CEO of Huanic Corporation. Relationship between the two companies was potentially confirmed as Hwoyoung branded products have been discovered to have Holosun markings on them, possibly due to packaging mistakes. Hwoyoung is a subsidiary of Huanic.[7]
Users
Holosun weapons sights have been adopted by the Estonian Military.[1]
Holosun products have seen widespread use in Ukrainian service in the Russo-Ukrainian War.[1] Holosun scopes have found their way into Russian service in the war through unconventional routes.[6] They have primarily been imported into Russia for alleged hunting use.[5]
