Summary
| Description | English: The USS Guardian (MCM-5), a Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship, in November 2002. The USS Guardian is 224 feet in length, has a beam of 39 feet, and displaces 1,312 tons fully loaded. The ship has a normal complement of 81 officers and enlisted personnel. The hull of the ship is constructed of oak, Douglas Fir and Alaskan Cedar, with a thin coating of fiberglass to take advantage of wood's low magnetic signature during mine countermeasures operations. |
