Donations Used for Reserve
Money donated more than 15 years ago is to be used for constructing two children's playgrounds on reclaimed swamplands on Hart Street Oval Reserve, Ethelton.
Port Adelaide town clerk, Mr. A. S. Upton, said this today. "Work will commence immediately." Money for the project, costing about £1,000, was donated by the late Mr. Roy LeMessurier and the late Mr. James Bailey, both former prominent Port Adelaide citizens. When completed in March, 1955, ovals will be named after the two men. When completed, the reserve would include one soccer ground, two hockey grounds, six basketball courts, two children's playgrounds, public ameni ties, and dressing rooms, Mr.Upton added.
