Description
English: Flow around an airfoil. The dots move with the flow. Note that the velocities are much higher at the upper surface than at the lower surface, and that black dots on a timeline below the airfoil do not catch up with those above. The airfoil is a Kármán–Trefftz airfoil, with parameters μx = –0.08, μy = +0.08 and n = 1.94. While the angle of attack is 8°. The flow is an incompressible potential flow.
Français : Écoulement de l'air autour d'un profil. Les points représentent des particules d'air et se déplacent avec le flux. Notez que les vitesses sont beaucoup plus grandes à la surface supérieure du profil (l'extrados) qu'à sa surface inférieure (l'intrados). Notez aussi que les points noirs qui ont longé l'extrados n'arrivent pas au bord de fuite en même temps que les points noirs qui étaient sur la même verticale loin du corps et qui ont longé l'intrados. Le profil aérodynamique est un profil aérodynamique Kármán – Trefftz, avec les paramètres μx = –0.08, μy = +0.08 and n = 1.94. L'angle d'attaque est de 8 °. Le flux est un flux potentiel incompressible.
