Español: La imagen representa el relieve de Tenerife procesado con el sistema de información geográfica QGIS. Fue realizada a partir de un modelo digital de elevaciones LiDAR (CNIG, CC-BY) aplicando un algoritmo de sombreado sintético multidireccional de desarrollo propio y una paleta de colores hipsométrica donde la mayor elevación, el Teide, aparece en tonos azulados; el mar se muestra en negro. Este tipo de elaboraciones muestra el relieve más eficazmente que el sombreado convencional y con una resolución que solo depende del tamaño de celda del MDE original (25 m en este caso). El proceso fue realizado en el CMPLab del Centro Universitario de Mérida, España.
English: The image represents the relief of Tenerife processed with the QGIS geographic information system. It was made from a digital LiDAR elevation model (CNIG, CC-BY) applying a self-developed multidirectional synthetic shading algorithm and a hypsometric color palette where the highest elevation, Teide, appears in bluish tones; the sea is shown in black. This type of elaboration shows the relief more efficiently than the conventional shading and with a resolution that only depends on the cell size of the original DEM (25 m in this case). The process was carried out at the CMPLab of the University Center of Mérida, Spain.
