DescriptionBob Atcher Meadow Gold show early 1950s.JPG
Promotional photo of musician Bob Atcher. Atcher was part of many local (Chicago) and national radio and television programs. He was also the mayor of the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, Illinois from 1959 to 1979. Atcher hosted some children's television programs in the late 1940s to early 1950s. The photo depicts him as the host of "Meadow Gold Ranch", which was named for its sponsor, an area dairy. The program aired on WENR-TV, which became WBKB-TV in 1953, and WLS-TV in 1968. The signature on the photo appears to be a facsimile and it seems to have been distributed to publicize the show's contest.
While there are no copyright marks on the front of the photo, I am not able to view its back. A search at copyright.gov for the names WENR and Meadow Gold turned up no results for a possible copyright renewal. My belief is that this was published without notice/copyright, but will license it as not renewed to be certain.
Note that it may still be copyrighted in jurisdictions that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works (depending on the date of the author's death), such as Canada (70 years p.m.a.), Mainland China (50 years p.m.a., not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany (70 years p.m.a.), Mexico (100 years p.m.a.), Switzerland (70 years p.m.a.), and other countries with individual treaties.
