English: An illustration of Ardincaple Castle, depicting the castle sometime before 1879 (the year in which this book was published). According to this book the castle was then occupied by H. E. Crum-Ewing of Strathleven, Lord Lieutenant of Dumbartonshire. This illustration is from the book The Book of Dumbartonshire, volume 3, by Joseph Irving, published in 1879. The illustration is unattributed within the book. The lifespan of the author of the book was 1830-1891; and it is assumed the creator of this illustration would have had lived in roughly the same era.
