Summary

Description 35 (right) and 37 (left) Charlton Street between Sixth Avenue and Varick Street in the South Village section of the Greenwich Village neigborhood of Manhattan, New York City, were built c.1820 in the Federal style. They are located within the Charlton - King - Vandam Historic District. The house on the left, #37 and its neighbor to the west, #39, were called by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission "the two most important houses in age, richness of style, scale and perfection of preservation" in the district.
