Farg Qaleh (Persian: فرگ قلعه)[a] is a city in, and the capital of, Farah Dasht District of Kashmar County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.[4] It is a merger of the villages of Farahabad (Qaleh-ye Bala) and Farg (Qaleh-ye Pain).[5]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the population (as the total of the two villages before their merger) was 4,853 in 1,235 households, when they were in Bala Velayat Rural District of the Central District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,459 people in 1,450 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 4,519 people in 1,411 households.[2]

In 2018, Farah Dasht District was formed,[4] and the two villages merged to form the city of Farg Qaleh[5] in the new district.
