John B. Wennerberg (1842-1918) was an emigrant from Sweden Sweden . He settled in Carlton Oregon where he became a builder, philanthropist, and community leader. He sponsored many families from Sweden to come to the Carlton area.

His barn, built in 1895 was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018. The barn is recognized for its Dutch-Style architecture and operated as a few businesses over the years. He also built a home on Main Street that stands today as a private residence.The Victorian-style home is next to one of the original churches in Carlton where John Wennerberg served as a Deacon. John Wennerberg also contributed land and his efforts into building the first City Hall in Carlton.

The city of Carlton honored him in naming Wennerberg Park after him.
