Veteran soldier Havildar(retd) Baldev Singh fought four wars against Pakistan, passed away at the age of 93.[1] Singh enlisted in Indian Army on November 14, 1950 at the age of 16 as a volunteer for the Bal Sena Force under Brigadier Usman, who was known as “Lion of Naushera,” during the intense battle of Naushera and battle of Jhangar in 1947-48. He served as a despatch runner in these battles. Besides, he fought multiple wars including the India-Pakistan wars of 1961, 1962 and 1965.[2]
Singh was born on September 27, 1931, in the village of Naunihal in Naushera.[2]
