Draft:Dorion Renaud
Dorion Renaud (born February 8, 1988) is an American actor, television personality, singer, and entrepreneur.[1] He is best known as the founder and CEO of Buttah Skincare, a skincare brand.[2]
Career
Renaud began his television career as a cast member on the BET reality series College Hill: Atlanta.[3] He later appeared in guest roles on shows such as In the Cut and Faking It.[4]
In 2018, Renaud launched Buttah Skincare, a skincare brand for people with melanin-rich skin.[1][5]
Controversy
In January 2023, Dorion Renaud appeared on MTV's reality series The Real Friends of WeHo, which followed the personal and professional lives of LGBTQ+ celebrities and influencers in West Hollywood.[6] In an interview, Renaud revealed that he was initially approached in March 2021 to participate in what was pitched to him as a reboot of The A-List: Los Angeles, a docuseries that would focus on his work with his skincare brand, Buttah Skincare, and aspects of his personal life.[6]
Throughout production, Renaud was kept in the dark about key details. He mentioned that he didn't know the full cast until filming began.[7] The show's name and network were changed without Renaud's knowledge. Renaud expressed frustration that the show was promoted as a series about six gay men living in West Hollywood, which did not reflect his identity or lifestyle.[7]
