Doctor Strange 3 is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is intended to be the sequel to Doctor Strange (2016) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), and part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film would star Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange.

Cumberbatch and Marvel Studios had discussed a potential third Doctor Strange film by January 2025.

In January 2025, Benedict Cumberbatch indicated that he would be returning as Dr. Stephen Strange for a third Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) solo film after Doctor Strange (2016) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). He praised Marvel Studios for their collaborative approach, saying they had discussed who he wanted to write and direct the film as well as what elements from Marvel Comics he was interested in including. Cumberbatch was excited to continue exploring the complex, contradictory, and troubled character. By that time, he was set to first have a central role in the MCU crossover film Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).^[1]
