Name of this category
Many of the articles in this category have been placed there with the support of the book
- Unbegaun, B. O. (1972). Russian Surnames. Oxford University Press.
One observes that the title of the book is "Russian Surnames", not "Russian-language Surnames". The latter phrase occurs nowhere in the literature. Would it not therefore be more sensible and correct to call the category "Russian surnames"? SamuelTheGhost (talk) 16:35, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have the same question. The name for this category is obviously wrong, if not xenophobic. While every other ethnicity is linked to their own "surname" page, Russians have this "Russian-language surnames" with no obvious reason. I will change it to "Russian surnames" if no discussion follows, and will fix all Russian surnames linked to this category with time. AveTory (talk) 21:20, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
