Adolphe de Pallisseaux was a French rugby union player and sprinter in the 1890s.[1][2]

Sporting career

In 1888, Pallissaux was a member of the Racing Club de France that participated in the first edition of the French Athletics Championships [fr], becoming French champion of the 120 meters hurdles, with a time of 18.6 seconds, and also finished third in the 100m; the following year, he won again in the national championship, this time in the 110 meters hurdles, with a time of 19 seconds.[3]

He then helped the RCF win the 1892 French Rugby Union Championship, beating Stade Français 4–3 in the final.[4] In the following edition, where he was often positioned in a three-quarter position, RCF lost the final to Stade Français (3–7). He was part of the first team until 1896, including in a match against the Oxford University team at Levallois-Perret in December 1894. In 1896, he wore the USFSA jersey in a match against Scotland.[citation needed]

Then came the time of responsibilities; in the mid-1890s, de Pallisseauxhe became vice-president of the Association de la Presse Cycliste,[5] representative of the Association Vélocipédique d'Amateurs on the council of the USFSA,[6] and director of the Revue des Sports Athlétiques.[7]
