Aditi Singh Sharma is an Indian playback singer. She made her playback singing debut in Bollywood with Anurag Kashyap's Dev.D. Sharma is known for her work in movies like Dev.D, No One Killed Jessica, Dhoom 3, 2 States, Agent Vinod, and Heroine among others.[1]
She made her Bollywood debut in 2009 with Anurag Kashyap's film Dev.D. And since then she continued to gain recognition for her contributions to several notable films. To list a few films where she added her musical charm are, No One Killed Jessica, Dhoom 3, 2 States, Agent Vinod, and Heroine, among others.[2]
Early life
Aditi Singh Sharma was born in New Delhi, India. She began her training in Hindustani classical music at the age of four, but had to discontinue when her family relocated to Moscow, Russia. After completing her education in Moscow, her passion for music eventually made her move to Mumbai,India, where she pursued her career as a singer.[citation needed]
Career
After debuting with "Yahi Meri Zindagi" for the movie Dev.D,[3] she was unstoppable. Aditi Singh Sharma continued to entertain millions with her electrifying music. Not just in Hindi, with time she expanded her music to other languages as well, like “Ra Ra Rowdy” and “Miami” in Telugu and “Nachle re Moyena”, “Ami Jani”, “Premer Infection”, and “Ure Ure Mon” in Bengali.
Alongside doing multiple playbacks, she has performed in numerous live concerts and appeared on popular musical channels like MTV Coke Studio, MTV Unplugged, and Gaan Bangla TV.
Among her many iconic live performances, the one that still tops all the charts is her appearance at the IIFA 2013, where she shared the stage with maestros like Pritam and Arijit Singh.[4]
In 2013, she performed on the MTV Coke Studio, where she lent her powerful and passionate vocals to Ram Sampath’s reinvention of 'Sundari Komola' and created a massive buzz.
A few years later, in 2020, she performed a “Mor Bhabona Re”, a Rabindra Sangeet at the prestigious musical platform Bangladesh, Wind Of Change. Stealing the show at this international manifesto of cultural exchange which is currently recognized as the most diverse musical fusion platform in the world, marked another milestone in her illustrious career.
