The final of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship, a Test cricket match, is scheduled to be played from 11 to 15 June 2023 at Lord's, London, between Australia and South Africa.[1]

The points system remained unchanged from the previous edition. A team that was behind the required over rate at the end of a match would have one point deducted for each over it was behind. As in the previous edition, the teams are ranked in the league table based on percentage of total points won out of total points contested.[2]

During the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship, both Australia and South Africa emerged as the leading teams in terms of points.[3][4] Going into the final Australia held the top position in the ICC Men's Test Team Rankings while South Africa secured the second spot. South Africa made their first-ever appearance in the WTC final, whereas Australia were the defending champions having won the previous edition against India in the 2023 final.

  1. ^ Australia were deducted a total 10 points for a slow over-rate in the fourth Test against England.[5]
  2. ^ India were deducted a total 2 points for a slow over-rate in the first Test against South Africa.[6]
  3. ^ New Zealand were deducted a total 3 points for a slow over-rate in the first Test against England.[7]
  4. ^ England were deducted a total 22 points for a slow over-rate in the first, second, fourth, and fifth Tests against Australia[5] and the first Test against New Zealand.[7]
  5. ^ Bangladesh were deducted a total 3 points for a slow over-rate in the first Test against Pakistan.[8]
  6. ^ Pakistan were deducted a total 13 points for a slow over-rate in the first Test against Australia,[9] the first Test against Bangladesh[8] and the second Test against South Africa.[10]
