Parliamentary elections are being held in the Comoros on 12 January 2025.[1]
Electoral system
The 33 seats in the Assembly of the Union are elected in single-member constituencies using the two-round system. The voting age in the Comoros is 18, with voting being optional.[2]
Parties
Some opposition parties boycotted the election, including the Juwa Party of former president Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi, which had previously boycotted the 2020 election.[3]
