- Delete. Not notable. Should consider nominating its sequel, Homeboyz, as well. JDoorjam JDiscourse 02:56, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Weak keep. I think it has just enough independent sources. There are more out there, but not free to read. Fences&Windows 17:14, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep You are quite right. Articles that are not free to read are a particular problem for The Children's Literature Project. Frankly, most Children's books in that project are Stub class. The few that make it to the ranks of Good Article or Featured Article are classics with a wealth of independent sources, or books made into movies. One might question the educational value of a child's book turned into a movie with regard to encouraging more reading. The expansion of this article may someday include the general scope of using popular culture to interest inner city youth to acheive educational goals, and perhaps future published reports on how such books and teaching methods are of value in today's society. Adding this book to the The Children's Literature Project was clearly needed.Prapsnot (talk) 18:30, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. We cannot expect the same amount of references to determine notability among chilren's and young adult literature. That the next book in the series made the top ten list referenced in the article is very good indicator that this novel fits the notability requirement.
