Usha Martin University is a private university located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India set up by Usha Martin. Usha Martin University was set up in 2012 vide Usha Martin University, Jharkhand Act 2012 and is duly recognised by the University Grants Commission as a private university.[1][2][3]
History- Usha Martin University
Founded in 2012, under the Jharkhand Act Usha Martin University aimed to fill the gap between industrial relevance and academic excellence. The University has been the house of many programs ranging from under-graduate programs, post graduate programs ,diploma programs including Research programs and Management studies. It is one of the most renowned Universities in Eastern India ,located in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The University stood tall as an institution that catered to the diverse educational needs of students with world-class infrastructural facilities. University Grants Commission(UGC) has recognized Usha Martin University to be one of the most focused institutions offering quality education in various disciplines and subjects viz. engineering, management, law, pharmacy, agriculture, paramedical sciences, arts, and humanities. The university emphasizes research-driven education and hands-on learning.
Research-driven teaching and experiential learning are highly valued at the university. Research in a variety of subjects is prioritized at UMU, and faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to work on creative initiatives.

Usha Martin University is a coveted educational institute which is recognized by University Grants Commission under the UGC Act , 1956.All the course programs related to Pharmacy are recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India. Similarly, Indian Nursing Council has approved the Nursing courses that are undertaken at the Usha Martin University. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has also approved the technical course programs to be offered at Usha Martin University as the institution meets quality standards across all disciplines. All the law programs are recognized by the Bar Council of India(BCI).
