- Hi, I made some changes to your article, Draft:Chris Dorsey. External URLs should only be included as references (between <ref> </ref> tags) or at the end of the article in an External links section. Also, imdb is not a reliable source, please don't cite it in articles. Hope that helps! Schazjmd (talk) 15:56, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you! Do you think I need to add citations to the shows or no? I can find a lot of interviews by him as well online that might be good references. I'm also worried I don't have enough information on him personally, just a lot of the work that he has done with TV. From what I can see online he does a lot of things but I'm just not sure what would be good to include. MallardHunter (talk) 16:25, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- The problem you're facing is a common one: notability. Lots of people do a lot of great stuff, but whether there should be an encyclopedia article about them relies on general notability and subject-specific notability criteria. The way to establish notability is to cite independent reliable sources that have published significant coverage about the person. Also take a look at the criteria for WP:NAUTHOR and WP:NCREATIVE, see if he meets those. - Thank you! I've spent some time gathering some interviews and better sources on coverage about him. Do you think this would now qualify for resubmission or needs further edits? MallardHunter (talk) 17:12, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Interviews don't contribute to notability (they're not considered to be independent). The only ref that I see in the article that contributes to notability is the HoF induction article. Also, your wording throughout the article is excessively promotional. Wikipedia article wording should be dispassionate and objective, not laudatory.By the way, what is your source for Dorsey's date of birth? Schazjmd (talk) 17:31, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- He talks about his birthday on his show Sporting Classics, I can find the episode and maybe link it! I will also go through and change up the phrasing. I've seen a lot of the shows he has created so the article probably coming off as too biased. MallardHunter (talk) 17:37, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- It's going to take me some time to find his birthday again so I've removed that for now and changed up the phrasing. I also found articles on Variety and other outdoor websites that talk more 'about' him than do an interview. MallardHunter (talk) 18:42, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
