Morphology section reorganization
Currently Bacillariophyceae redirects to this page, and there isn't any clear distinction about centric and pennate diatoms (and further, araphid and raphid diatoms). Given the taxonomy is very in flux right now, I don't think that should change - especially since there is a separate page for the taxonomy of diatoms.
I think it would be SUPER useful to add sub sections to morphology for "centric" and "pennate" and possibly further into radially centric + polar centric for centrics and araphid + raphid for pennates. I think it would help in organization to have "general morphology" that applies to all diatoms and then specifics for each. As right now the morphology is a bit redundant in sections and possibly confusing as to what applies to each.
Hi all, There is a fantastic new trove of eukaryote diagrams over on commons. I see that this article has some detailed labels on the current diagrams and I don't want to mess that up. Here's the file in case you want to include it and rejigger some labels. H0n0r (talk) 16:19, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
