Assertion that Berbeka became the first person in the world to reach 8000 m during the winter
Have amended the bullet point stating that Berbeka became the first person in the world to reach 8000 m during the winter of 1988. The first winter ascent of Mount Everest (8848m) was made in Feb 1980![1] Furthermore, the assertion in the bullet point is not supported by the reference given - and anyhow that reference explicitly states that "in 1984, he hit the summit of Manaslu", and the height of Manaslu is 8,163 m. The reference has been left because it supports the rephrasing of the bullet point. Babybrew6 (talk) 12:31, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
