Should DRM that requires a perodic connection be called “periodically-online DRM”?
There is actually two types of internet-required DRM:
Always-on DRM: Requires constant connection to server
Periodic authentication: Requires an authentication to a server periodically (every certain amount of time) or every boot.
However, regardless of which one, they both are at risk should companies shut down their server, with the latter have a certain amount of time before the DRM ask to authenticate again, after that, its over. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeleoj123 (talk • contribs) 01:35, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Add List of Notable Examples
The Usage and criticism section doesn't really have a high level overview, it just lists notable examples. Perhaps these should be moved to their own section, and sorted chronologically. 2404:4408:430C:C800:4C4B:32F6:39AC:9723 (talk) 10:37, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
