| Description | English: Stone Cross by Leia sound is Kvitsøy most famous past memory. It has an altitude of 3.9 meters.
The cross is visible from the fairway, and has always been a familiar sea and sailing brand. No one knows for sure when the cross was set up, but there must be at least 1000 years old. It is purified by salt water and wind. English missionaries may have already raised the cross on the 900's. Since there has been a landmark for sailors, from the Viking Age to the present. Snorri Sturluson relates that Erling Skjalgsson and Olav Haraldsson was a settlement of this cross in 1016 |
