English: The Shay steam engine, Mount Emily Lumber Company Number 1, was built in 1923 by Lima Locomotive Works and used to haul logs from forests to mills. This Shay is owned by the Oregon Historical Society and is housed, maintained and operated (on special occasions) by the City of Prineville Railway (COPR), a short-line connecting Prineville with main line railroads in Redmond, 18 miles to the west. A flat car, COP 1000, has been transformed into a platform with safety railings and side benches to accommodate riders for a special occasion. this day
