According to <a title="http://www.cornwallsfinest.co.uk/ShowDetails.asp?id=755" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.cornwallsfinest.co.uk/ShowDetails.asp?id=755">Link</a><img style="padding-left:2px;" alt="External link" title="External link - shift click to open in new window" src="http://s0.geograph.org.uk/img/external.png" width="10" height="10"/> , the C14 building was a coaching inn in the C17 known as the Square and Compass. Having been a blacksmith's for a while it was restored in 1840 as the Eliot Arms, and now seems to have both names.
