A címerterv Tiszalúc régi pecsétjét vette alapul, amely arra utal, hogy ez a hely hajdútelepülés. I. Rákóczi György erdélyi fejedelem 1642-ben telepített itt le hajdúkat.
A címer:
A tárcsapajzs vörös mezejében ezüstszínű, kardot tartó, levágott kar lebeg, fölötte a pajzsfőben nyitott, leveles aranykorona lebeg. A pajzsra helyezett aranykoronás lovagi sisak sisakdísze a pajzsban ábrázolt kardot tartó kar. A sisaktakaró kék-arany és vörös-ezüst.
