Manpreet Singh (born December 29, 1990) is an Indian singer, music composer, and music producer from Punjab, India. He began his music career with the song Kudian Kes Vahudiyan, a poem from the book Rani Tatt by Harmanjeet Singh.
Following this, Manpreet formed a close friendship with fellow artist Harmanjeet Singh. The two began collaborating on music, releasing numerous poetic and melodious tracks such as Kise Da Pyaar, Maa Da Geet, and a spirtual musica album Sooraj Eko Rutt Anek that resonated with audiences, solidifying their place in the Punjabi music. They release their songs on their Rani Tatt youtube channel.
Manpreet has also collaborated with renowned artists like Diljit Dosanjh for tracks like Aar Nanak Paar Nanak[1], Nanak Aadh Jugaadh Jiyo[2]. As a composer, he created hit tracks such as Chal Kudiye from the movie Jigra[3][4]. Moreover, he has contributed to Punjabi films as both a singer and composer, with notable songs like Nirmoha from the film Bibi Rajni, Kaafla from film Painter, and Vadde Vadde Din from Ardab Mutiyaran.
Early life
Manpreet Singh was born in Longowal, Punjab. He completed his early schooling at Shaheed Bhai Mati Das Govt. School Longowal. During his school years, he developed an interest in both academics and extracurricular activities, particularly in Bhangra and singing, which he actively participated in during his school and college years.
After completing his schooling, Manpreet pursued his undergraduate studies at Government Ranbir College, Sangrur. He then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Punjabi University, Patiala. His academic journey continued with a PhD in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
Following the completion of his PhD, Manpreet worked as a visiting scientist at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in Bangalore. He later joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, as Mathematics instructor, where he continues to contribute to the academic community.
Alongside his academic achievements, Manpreet pursued a career in music, particularly in Punjabi soulful music, starting in 2016. Throughout his journey, Manpreet's contributions to both mathematics and music have made him a multifaceted figure, excelling in two distinct yet equally important fields.
