† 2025 SEC tournament winner Rankings from AP poll |
The 2024–25 South Carolina Gamecocks men's basketball team represented the University of South Carolina during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by third-year head coach Lamont Paris and played their home games at Colonial Life Arena located in Columbia, South Carolina as a member of the Southeastern Conference.
South Carolina finished bottom of the table in the SEC and was one of only two SEC teams to not make the NCAA tournament.
Previous season
The Gamecocks finished the 2023–24 season 26–8, 13–5 in SEC play to finish in a tie for second place. As the No. 5 seed in the SEC tournament, they beat Arkansas in the second round before falling to Auburn in the quarterfinals. The Gamecocks earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, their first since 2017. However, they would fall in the first round to Oregon.[1][2]
