2021-09-04 18:11 | Diff · History | 850 | →Overview: The edit I originally suggested was deleted because at one point it referred to a paper of mine which I did not realise was considered COI for which apologies. I have reinstated the point being made in this section about how narrative is being used in the social sciences referring to another source. |

I have reinstated the point being made in that previous change, which reers to emplotment and I've added reference to a relevant book. |

I have reinstated the point being made in that previous change, which makes it clear that validity is not usually applied to narrative analysis and I've added reference to two relevant papers. |
2021-09-04 17:07 | Diff · History | 354 | The edit I originally suggested was deleted because it referred to a paper of mine which I did not realise was considered COI for which many apologies. I have reinstated the idea that methods used to analyse fictional texts can be appied to non-fiction which is an approach taken in Russian formalism. I have added a reference to a book that makes this argument. There is a section on Russian formalism later in the article but I think it makes sense to include this here. |
2021-09-04 14:57 | Diff · History | 48 | (reverted) →Inquiry approach: added another term relevant to the debate on validity and narrative |
2021-09-04 14:56 | Diff · History | 604 | (reverted) →Inquiry approach: Inserted references on both sides of the debate as to whether narrative analysis can be evaluated in terms of validity, improving this section to be more balanced - this was also responding to a wikipedia editor request for a citation |
2021-09-04 14:42 | Diff · History | 46 | (reverted) Included another reference to a relevant wikipedia article |
2021-09-04 14:40 | Diff · History | 394 | (reverted) Added the idea that non-fictional texts can be treated as narratives, with a reference to the wikipedia text on Russian formalism (which is also referred to later in the article) together with a supporting reference to a paper that treats non-fictional texts as narratives. |
2021-09-04 14:28 | Diff · History | 632 | (reverted) →Social-sciences approaches: Added a link to the wikipedia page on sensemaking and included detail and a reference on the process known as emplotment - which is used in the social sciences to describe how people make themselves charcaters in their own story |
