Yogeshwar Amatya (born 3 April 1964 in Kathmandu, Nepal) is a Nepali singer, musician, producer, actor, social activist, and photographer, best known for his song "Jaba Sandhya Hunchha" and the 1998 album Karai Kara Le.[1] He released the album Ahile Chaahin Drabya Ko Aaasha Ma, Bastoo (1998), which includes the song "Wakka Dikka".

Amatya participated as a solo artist in the song "Melancholy", which featured 365 other Nepali singers and musicians. The song set the Guinness World Record for "Most Vocal Solos in a Song Recording".[2][3][4]

Family background

Amatya's father, Bhubaneswar Amatya, was the founder and first president of the Nepal professional film company, Nepal Chalchitra Sangha, in 2024.[5] His mother, Lamu Amatya, pursued a nursing education and established the first nursing school in Nepal at Chettrapati. She was also the founder and first president of the Nursing Association of Nepal.[6]
