Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Cryptocurrency

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Cryptocurrency. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Cryptocurrency|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Cryptocurrency. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

An article on a crypto-exchange company, created in a promotional way in a promo tone, with most references only passing mentioning the subject. The available coverage is insufficient to meet WP:CORPDEPTH 89KimberlyRoad (talk) 12:10, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Bloomberg and other kind of good sources have only passing mentions of the subject. The available coverage is insufficient to meet WP:CORPDEPTH. Finmagnets and other sources are press releases mainly. 89KimberlyRoad (talk) 12:11, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Only passing mentions of the subject with little or absent deep media coverage per WP:CORPDEPTH. Not enough notability, remove. 89KimberlyRoad (talk) 12:13, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The crypto exchange with sources only based on 1 event - stealing of 200 mln usd. Literally all 5 sources in the References are only about the same event. Not ready for Wikipedia and not enough reliable sources to establish notability per WP CORPDEPTH 89KimberlyRoad (talk) 12:15, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Limited coverage in mostly poor-quality sources. The Business Insider piece is probably the strongest source in terms of significant coverage and reliability, but even that is questionable. The rest are either trivial mentions or unreliable sources. GorillaWarfare (she/her • talk) 15:48, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable crypto nonsense. Even by the low bar of our crypto standards, it’s still not notable. Lacks any meaningful independent coverage and is, like most crypto in 2024, a dime a dozen. GRINCHIDICAE🎄 20:45, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An article on a crypto-exchange company, created in March after a previous instance was deleted by AfD in February. Although this instance is not a WP:G4 repost, the text covers much the same ground and most of the references were available for consideration in the Jan 24 AfD. Since then there is a pros-and-cons Business Insider product review, though it is marked Paid non-client promotion. I am unconvinced that the available coverage meets WP:CORPDEPTH - and the special considerations for Crypto - so it seems appropriate to open a discussion on whether or not to overturn the Feb 24 AfD decision as to attained notability.
