Emerald Evergreen
1.How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in? Can't remember when I first started using Wikipedia, but I've had an account for almost two years now. I am not active in any one particular area, but I have made several edits to articles related to the Middle East. My contributions have primarily been minor edits and are made as I come upon them while doing research for any number of particular inquiries I may have about a topic (rather than any deliberate effort to seek them out). Areas of research that would interest me include: the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Russia, and Latin America as well as recreational activities such as Orienteering (or maps and navigation in general), Adventure Racing, Biathlon, Hiking, Backpacking, Horse Racing, Kayaking, Sailing, Snowshoeing, Speed Skating, Triathlon, and related activities.
2.What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects? I am most comfortable communicating in English. I am not active on any non-English Wikipedias, but I do turn to them when the English version falls short in filling a knowledge gap I may have or helping me obtain a photo or image of someone or something. Learning languages is one of my stronger abilities, but not something I've been able to devote enough time to for fluency. I've studied Spanish, German, Arabic, Russian, and most recently Turkish. I'd like to find a way to get more involved with foreign languages and if Wikipedia has any opportunities for that, I would definitely be interested.
3.Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play? I've always been a big believer in the "People's Encyclopedia" and would like to contribute to it in any way I can. Throughout the years, it has helped me in ways that no other resource has and I think it's important to find ways to give back to people, resources, and programs that have been beneficial and generous with assistance. As for my interests, in addition to what I've previously mentioned, I'd also be interested in the specific roles you have listed for volunteers. In descending order, listing my highest interest first, are the areas that would most appeal to me: 1) research, 2) metrics, 3) technical, 4) communications, 5) outreach, 6) partner, and 7) account. I find them all appealing, so if you don't have any opportunities in the areas that interest me most, please don't think I'm not interested in the others
Thanks in advance for considering me for a volunteer position. I look forward to exploring ways in which I could make more significant contributions to Wikipedia. Emerald Evergreen 20:50, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Emerald Evergreen, per my message on your talk page I think we'll hold off on this for now. Nikkimaria (talk) 22:54, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

Hamid Hassani, as an Iran-related articles reviewer
- I have been active for more than nine and half years.
- English is not my native language, but I am almost comfortable in communicating with it.
- I would be happy to serve as an Iran-related articles reviewer, especially as a Persian spelling checker of the Iranian proper nouns.
— Hamid Hassani (talk) 01:28, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Hamid Hassani, thank you. Can you explain more about why you want to volunteer as a Wikipedia Library coordinator? It doesn't appear to match your area of interest, which is more focused on reviewing articles. Nikkimaria (talk) 22:54, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Nikkimaria. Thank you for the message and your question about my "Wikipedia Library coordination". I can contribute, less or more, on the field/part analyzing source usage, especially "monitoring how some partner resources are being used"; I mean, the resources which concentrate on or related to Iran and Persian language in addition to some Iranian languages-related fields. I hope that I will useful here. Hamid Hassani (talk) 07:25, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Stunteltje
1. How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in?
2007, see [1] My activity is mainly making pictures of inland waterway vessels for Wikimedia Commons (13432 now) and categorising ships in Commons by name (we have 36.455 now) and where possible by IMO and ENI number (13485 and 4618 now). Writing various articles in Wikipedia, most in the Dutch language.
2. What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
Dutch, English, German and a little bit of French. (But via Google Translate simple things in other languages.)
3. Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play?
To promote the use of databases for ships, as for old ships in many cases it is very difficult to find the year of completion (or, for the English Wikipedia, the year of launch). --Stunteltje (talk) 08:44, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Stunteltje, we've been talking with some contributors on Dutch Wikipedia about potentially launching a branch there - would you like to be included in those conversations? If so, please email me and I can link you in. Nikkimaria (talk) 19:24, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

I am comfortable in communicating in English. I also participate in moving verified free files to Wikipedia Commons.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?

- I signed up in
lateearly 2011, made a few edits here and there, and in January 2014 opted for semi-retirement which gave me more free time to edit WP. I am a reviewer, copyeditor, content creator, and I enjoy writing and helping to get articles promoted to GA and FA. My edits cover a broad range of topics across the encyclopedia including fish and wildlife biology, agriculture, conservation/environment, BLPs, and I also dabble in a wide range of other topics.

- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- English is my primary language. I can speak a little Spanish (broken) but not enough to be "comfortable" without Google translate. I am also active on Commons and have donated photographs and video footage.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library?
- I have some extra time on my hands and enjoy helping others. I also enjoy the mental stimulation WP provides.
- What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?
- Account coordinator or Communications coordinator.

Paulscrawl
- Active registered editor for over 11 years; regular contributor to Reference Desk and, recently, Resource Exchange; Reviewer; Research Coordinator for the Wikipedia Library, which recently granted me Cochrane and BMJ access donation accounts (applications pending for Elsevier-Health Sciences and AAAS). I edit widely as curiosity takes me, but relevant healthcare edits prior to gaining access to needed proprietary databases include periodically updating Users' Guides to the Medical_Literature and recently citing Cochrane systematic review in Conflict of interest in the health care industry. I am currently restructuring Cochrane Collaboration to improve neutrality, achieve due weight in sub-sections, increase secondary sources, prune external links, etc. My interests in NPOV, avoidance of COI and undue balance, secondary sources, etc. are outlined on Talk:Evidence-based_medicine and Talk:Cochrane_Collaboration (and clear edit summaries of latter article) and show good intent. No competing interests in healthcare field whatsoever.
- Fluent in American English; growing familiarity with BMJ and Cochrane Collaboration reviews are helping with second language acquisition of British English. ;)
- As Account Coordinator for the Cochrane partnership, I would help other editors use these systematic reviews - the gold standard of evidence-based medicine - throughout Wikipedia. I'll be especially interested in helping others use available citation templates and tools to ensure full metadata in citations — to properly credit authors and partner alike, minimize link rot, maximize findability, ease periodic updates, and, especially, ease transition of citations from proprietary to open access URLS, as new Cochrane reviews age into Open Access one year after release. Looking forward to liaison with Cochrane Wikipedian in Residence for guidance on other contributions I could make, such as enabling more, and better, layman summaries of best evidence. Thanks again. -- Paulscrawl (talk) 19:56, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

- I have been active for almost 7 years, primarily as a content creator and copy editor. Lately I have begun defending some of the sensitive articles against foolishness. I also have contributed photos to Wikimedia. My account is active on 30 project sites.

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in
10 years, active in Freemasonry as a topic, source verification as an area, and will pretty much edit anything I feel I can edit properly. I've done BLPs, event articles, copyediting, and so on.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
I speak Japanese, but I only use ja-wiki for translation and sourcing for en-wiki. I can probably pull off Spanish still, but I haven't used it in years.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?
I'm finding the access ridiculously useful, and I see that Taylor and Francis needs an account coordinator. I'm finding a lot of stuff from that DB that I need, so I might as well be proactive and solve that problem myself.--MSJapan (talk) 00:51, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in? I have been on Wikipedia for nearly three years. I am active on Wikipedia, Commons, Wikidata and on Meta.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects? I am comfortable communicating in English. I contribute a lot to Wikimedia Commons and have been on almost every project organized from my country.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? I understand the essence of a library and benefits it provides to its users. I am enthused about the way TWL leads the way for the the future of all libraries by tapping into the digitization of library contents. What role would you like to play? I will love to occupy the role of the account coordinator so as to support the project in managing donations. I will aside the role of the account coordinator be able to connect the TWL with GLAM institutions in my country.

Titodutta
- Hello, I have been editing using Titodutta (talk · contribs · count) account since 13 April 2011, however I used to make anonymous edits before that.
- I can comfortably communicate in: English, Hindi, Bengali.
- In mid-2013, I added myself as a "participant" here. I also talked to Ocaasi to include a couple of sites (see October 2012 request).
What I always say-- this Wikipedia library is very useful and helpful for Indian subcontinent editors (specially sites like Jstor, BNA etc.). If you ask me why I want to become a co-ordinator here, my answer will be-- I am eager to be a part of the core team which I really like and which I have been using for almost 3 years now.
Now let me answer the second part of this question: I would like to play one or more of these roles: Outreach co-ordinator, partner co-ordinator, communication co-ordinator.
Regards. --Tito Dutta (talk) 17:57, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

- I've been active at en.wikipedia for nearly 9 years (since August 2006). I am a member of the WikiProject Anime and manga Magazine Archive as well as the WikiProject Video Games Reference Library, I am one of the lead editors of the WikiProject Video Games Newsletter, and I have been active at the WikiProject Video Games Reliable Source guideline page and the Help desk.
- I am a native English speaker and I am somewhat comfortable communicating in French and Hungarian. I have also translated successfully from Japanese and Russian into English in the past. I only have a handful of edits at other Wikipedia sister projects.
- I'm volunteering because I am an off-wiki advocate for the democratization of knowledge via increased access to information. I hold an MSIS degree, I have worked at numerous GLAM-ish places (a museum, an herbarium, and several libraries) in the past, and I would like to be more involved in these activities on-wiki. I would be happy to serve as an Account coordinator, Outreach coordinator, Research coordinator, or Communications coordinator.

- English only really, mais un petit peut de Francais ... Often Google Translate (GT) helps, indeed it seems GT has corrected my "but a small can of French" to "but a little bit of French"
- I feel that the availability of the library needs to be expanded within the community, especially as it is such a powerful reference/research tool. Getting editors to use the library for research is key to this end, and may require coordination between current services account holders, and those needing to be helped with further research. It would not hurt to promote the library as helping with research for those who are not experienced at finding information (especially those who are ESL) What role would I like to play? Research coordinator.

- I have edited Wikipedia for over 11 years now, generally adding academic citations to articles I come across in my wide reading in comparative literature, art history, history of religions, social sciences, computer science, and the history and philosophy of the sciences. I have provided authoritative sources in answer to many questions posed to the Humanities Reference Desk. AI@50 was one of my first substantive contributions, and I also was an active editor of articles related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
- I read and write English with native fluency. I have several years of professional experience using the MediaWiki platform to support over a thousand internal business clients with encyclopedic business content of my own creation, all hyperlinked to email a support desk, where my colleagues and I provided short, factual, and action-oriented emails that rarely required any followup responses. I developed the custom MediaWiki platform, content, and email templates to streamline the one-email-does-it support process.
- The Wikipedia Library is one of the most exciting developments of open access I have seen in years. I would like to help share these resources as a Wikipedia Library Research Coordinator.

I do enjoy working in the file namespace and have a few articles I like to maintain regularly. I also help out at Good Article Review. I've had a subscription for Newspapers.com from TWL for just under a year.
- English is my native tongue. I can get by with little bits of French or Spanish, nothing major though.
- I've been getting hyper involved with local libraries and seeing the vast amount of resources that go unused in this world disappoints me. In my daily life, as it relates to my skillset, I am a technology specialist for a school system as well as a member on the board of trustees of our local library. I would like to see more people use these wonderful resources that are donated to this project. Cheers, TLSuda (talk) 11:50, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

NegMawon
My user name is NegMawon.
How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in? I've been a user of Wikipedia for many years; an advocate for as long as I have been a librarian; and an editor for the last 2 years. My focus has been on Haitian history - particularly the history of education in Haiti. I have also facilitated 4 edit-a-thons.
What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects? English is the language in which I feel most comfortable writing. I am interested in supporting the Haitian Creole version of Wikipedia by recruiting Creole speaking editors (I am also currently learning Haitian Creole.)
What experience do you have with libraries, academic databases, research support, and/or supporting verification on Wikipedia? How could these experiences strengthen our ability to handle partnerships? I'm a librarian who has worked in both public and academic libraries and supported research in social work and education. I have experience with all the common databases offered in public and academic libraries and have used them for my own work in Wikipedia. I have also had training in research support for science and engineering. I would likely be able to match editor needs with the right resources.
Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play? I want to increase access to high quality reference sources to better Wikipedia and use my librarian skills to make that happen. I also want to increase the presence of librarians in Wikipedia to help other librarians realize that Wikipedia is an ally - not an enemy. I have about 4 hours of time a week I can devote to Wikipedia library efforts. The co-coordinator roles I am interested in are: partners, accounts, research and communications (I would like to learn more about the specifics of this job.)
What experience do you have in customer service or a related area? Can you comfortably communicate online (on-wiki and by email) with our diverse userbase in a friendly way? Can you remain calm and deal with problems as they arise? I'm adept at customer service among a diverse population and communicate well in writing. I'm naturally a friendly person prone to kindness and not easily flustered.
Penny Richards
My user name is Penny Richards (same as my real name, not too creative, I realize). I've had a Wikipedia account since 2011, but I've been most active since 2013. I like edit-athons, I like creating new entries for women artists, scientists, suffragists, and others, whatever suits the theme of the event. I've had a dozen or so DYKs (another is in the pipeline right now)--I like the DYK process and I think it has improved my content writing. I like all my created entries, but Henrietta Rodman and Pauline Gracia Beery Mack are probably the best of them so far. I'm tragically monolingual so far in life, and I'm only active on English-language Wikipedia. I've contributed a few images at Wikimedia Commons but I wouldn't say I'm fluent there yet.
Alex Stinson suggested I might be a good fit to volunteer here, because I'm coming off fifteen years of university library access, and keenly aware of what I'm missing outside the firewalls. I haven't found any other solid offers of access, except Wikipedia Library, where I've mostly enjoyed Newspapers.com so far (almost all my US-based entries now have at least on link to their content). I also have a subscription to Scotland's People through Wikipedia, but I haven't played with that so much yet. I'm usually willing to help with anything that will expand access.
I don't have any ongoing volunteer obligations on Wikipedia, and I'm extracting myself from some other online volunteer gigs that depended on my university access, so I should have plenty of time to help here. I'm very familiar with most academic databases used by US history folks (ProQuest Historical Newspapers, ProQuest Dissertation Abstracts, JStor, Project Muse, etc.). I want to see more people use these good sources for working on Wikipedia, and will work for that goal. In my scholarly life, I've been president of the Disability History Association, a Research Scholar at UCLA, on the editorial board of two print encyclopedias, a reader at the Huntington Library, and an editor on H-Net. In other areas of life, I've been a middle school teacher, a Girl Scout leader, a church education director. I think I have pretty good capacity for diplomacy and kindness in online conversations. Thank you for considering me for this good work.

- I was very active from 2010 to 2012, and again since last year. I don't plan to have anymore leaves of absence. My favorite contributions are my numismatic articles. I've significantly contributed to ten featured articles, one featured list, three good articles and several DYK items. Although it's pretty short, Castaing machine is one of the contributions of which I'm most proud, because it's probably the most comprehensive single source of information on that topic.
- I am only comfortable communicating in English.
- I volunteered after being recruited by Nikkimaria. Until then, I was unaware that volunteers were needed. I decided to volunteer because the Wikipedia Library has been invaluable to my editing efforts, so it seems only appropriate to assist where needed.
- I should be able to devote approximately one to three hours weekly, or perhaps more when time allows. I've no other volunteer positions here on Wikipedia.
- I have a fairly considerable amount of experience researching here for Wikipedia, but no experience outside of the project.
- I don't see why I wouldn't be able to communicate politely; I usually do. I don't have considerable experience with customer service, however.-RHM22 (talk) 17:41, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
ThaddeusB
What is your user name?
- ThaddeusB
How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in? What contributions are you most proud of?
- I have been registered since August 2008. I have been active throughout that span, except for 2011 and a couple months off here and there. I have been active in virtually all areas of Wikipedia at some point, but I would say overall my greatest amount of contributions have been related to current events - both through In the News and outside of it. My most recent activity has focused on Articles for Creation (AfC). A slightly outdated list of my content contributions can be found at User:ThaddeusB/Content_log, roughly ordered by how I view their importance. Outside of content creation, I feel my best contributions have come from 1) helping and encouraging new and newish users through AfC and WP:REFUND; 2) raising the level of debate in AfD discussions; and 3) preventing the deletion of notable subjects by patrolling the list of proposed deletions.
What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- I have primitive knowledge of many languages due to my interest in linguistics, but only feel comfortable communicating in English.
Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library?
- I figured I would go ahead and offer my services due to the call for more volunteers in the latest newsletter. I have a strong interest in helping other editors and especially helping increase the quality of research done here.
What other Wikipedia volunteer obligations do you have? If we selected you to support a TWL partnership, how much time per week would you be willing to spend? Per month? (Typical weeks, we expect about 1-4 hrs per partnership, with the initial processing of accounts sometimes involving more time, though can be done in partnership with other volunteers).
- I have no explicit Wikimedia obligations. I would be willing to provide at least 5 hours per week to TWL.
What experience do you have with libraries, academic databases, research support, and/or supporting verification on Wikipedia? How could these experiences strengthen our ability to handle partnerships?
- I have a good deal of informal experience working with research databases for my own Wikipedia activities. The university I have access to (Ohio State) offers a lot of resources and I have gotten pretty good at using them through trial and error to the point that I usually know where to look for the information I want. I have no formal training in these areas outside of normal school work (from several years ago).
What experience do you have in customer service or a related area? Can you comfortably communicate online (on-wiki and by email) with our diverse userbase in a friendly way? Can you remain calm and deal with problems as they arise?
- I have worked in customer service type jobs a number of times, including my current job which is to provide internal support for the production teams. I am also an OTRS volunteer for Wikimedia. Yes, I have very good communication skills. And yes, I can remain calm under pressure - I regularly contribute to AfD here, which can get pretty contentious, and have resolved a number of onwiki disputes peacefully, for example. --ThaddeusB (talk) 22:07, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
Samwalton9
- What is your user name?
- Samwalton9, which I currently sign as Sam Walton (User:Sam Walton is a doppelganger account for which I have email notifications enabled in case anyone pings the wrong account!)
- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in? What contributions are you most proud of?
- I've had my account since 2011 but only really became active in 2013. Since then I've mostly been active in content creation (see the lists of articles on my user page) and admin areas since I gained the user right in November 2014. I'm most proud of the Good Articles I've written, particularly Proteus (video game), and the scientist biographies that I've created; an effort to counter Wikipedia's systemic biases of recentism and male-centered topics.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- I'm comfortable communicating in English, and Welsh to some degree (it's been a number of years since I've used it with any regularity, but I was fluent). I'm not really active on any other Wikimedia projects other than Commons where I have uploaded some images.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library?
- I think TWL is a great initiative and is one I've benefited from substantially; Highbeam and Newspapers.com access have helped me find a plethora of sources I wouldn't have otherwise had access to, and I would be more than happy to help with the organisation of the process. I would be particularly interested in helping with metrics, as discussed with Astinson here. As a science student I enjoy working with data and as noted at that discussion had been interested to look at the numbers related to the Newspapers.com usage.
- What other Wikipedia volunteer obligations do you have? If we selected you to support a TWL partnership, how much time per week would you be willing to spend? Per month? (Typical weeks, we expect about 1-4 hrs per partnership, with the initial processing of accounts sometimes involving more time, though can be done in partnership with other volunteers).
- I don't have many 'obligations' specifically at the moment; though I have WP:ACC access I haven't been particularly active there for at least the past few months, so my only real obligations are general editing and admin things. I could definitely easily spend the 5-10 hours a month mentioned at WT:Newspapers.com on this.
- What experience do you have with libraries, academic databases, research support, and/or supporting verification on Wikipedia? How could these experiences strengthen our ability to handle partnerships?
- I don't honestly have much experience with the organisation of libraries or academic databases, but I since I'm particularly applying for helping out with metrics I think my experience in dealing with numbers and data is more important. As a science undergraduate (in my final year) I've dealt with a lot of data over the past few years and have developed good skills in organising and presenting that data in useful ways.
- What experience do you have in customer service or a related area? Can you comfortably communicate online (on-wiki and by email) with our diverse userbase in a friendly way? Can you remain calm and deal with problems as they arise?
- During my time on Wikipedia I've spent a lot of time helping new users on the teahouse and in the en-help IRC channel. I think I communicate well (other users appear to think so too), and I don't think I've ever got angry at someone during my time editing! If I have I definitely haven't let it affect the way I communicate with them or deal with a given problem. Thanks, Sam Walton (talk) 22:35, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Juno
- Juno.
- I have been on Wikipedia since 2009, I'm primarily active in historical writing and article sorting, the contributions in which I take the most pride are when I get to fill in red links with worthwhile, well sourced information.
- I am comfortable in German and Italian, I have not been particularly active outside of en.wiki.
- I was recently given access to JSTOR through TWL, this has been fantastic and very helpful. I still have an outstanding request for another journal and noticed that some of the journal requests are somewhat backlogged. This is a brilliant program, and I want to help more applicants get through it.
- I have no other Wikipedia volunteer obligations at the moment. I could guarantee at least 5 hours a month.
- I used a variety of academic databases while pursuing my degree and extensive experience sourcing material on Wikipedia. With these experiences, as well as having had recently gone through the TWL application process I think that I have a working knowledge of what should be expected of a applicant.
- I have years of professional customer-relations experience and am very confident in my ability to communicate professionally with colleagues of any origin. Juno (talk) 06:58, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
Pratyya Ghosh
- What's your user name?
- Ans :- My user name is Pratyya Ghosh
- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in? What contributions are you most proud of?
- Ans :- I've been on Wikipedia from January 2012, which means 2.5 years. I'm active in mainly reverting vandalism. But I also do the works like creating articles, wikifying articles and fulfilling edit requests. I'm proud of List of Bangladesh Premier League captains and Wikipedia:WikiProject Bangladesh Premier League, but it's really difficult choosing a single or two creations.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- Ans :- As I'm a native speaker of Bengali so I'm comfortable in Bengali. I'm comfortable in English too (no like Bengali, but yes). Along them I can communicate in Hindi and Urdu, but can't write them and also I won't be able to use them in very difficult level.
Yes I'm active in, Bengali Wikipedia, Meta-Wikimedia, Wikidata Wiki, Test Wikipedia, Bengali Wiktionary, Simple English Wikipedia, Simple English Wiktionary, Commons Wikimedia.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library?
- Ans :- If I want to answer directly then I'll say I like to help Wikipedia in any way. So when heard this project needs coordinator so I didn't thought twice. But there are other reasons two. I am monitoring WP TWL from it's creation. So I've a weakness to this project. That's another reason.
- Ans :- I'm an admin in Bengali Wiktionary also hold some important rights in Bengali Wikipedia and Commons Wikimedia. Other that that I've been the coordinator of WP:BPL for almost 1 year. I can give 3-4 hours to this project in a week easily. In a month I would be able to give 19-20 hours. But in some special cases it can be 25-30 too. So no certainty there, but I would be able to give 3-4 hours in a week.
- What experience do you have with libraries, academic databases, research support, and/or supporting verification on Wikipedia? How could these experiences strengthen our ability to handle partnerships?
- Ans :- I'm a student. In my institution I've been in our library for many times for study issues. That's why I know what libraries are, how they are used and all their rules. Also I've the access to JSTOR, Questia. I search them for adding site source to WP articles. And all these thing helps to add reliable infos in WP.
As I know a lot about libraries so I think this knowledge can strengthen TWL's ability to handle partnership.
- What experience do you have in customer service or a related area? Can you comfortably communicate online (on-wiki and by email) with our diverse userbase in a friendly way? Can you remain calm and deal with problems as they arise?
- Ans :- I've done a volunteering job in a project display of our institution. Also fulfilled some online quest in a website. And in IRC fulfilled many WP based quest. So I'm quite confident that I can communicate in online in a friendly way.
I believe in myself and I think that I'll be able to stay calm.

What is your user name? Yoavd
How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in? What contributions are you most proud of? I have been active for almost 8 years. I am active in writing chess articles and most proud of my featured articles in the Hebrew wikipedia.
What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects? I communicate in English and French, am able to read German and Serbo-Croatian and of course Hebrew. I know some Arabic but cannot use it freely enough.
Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? No special reason. I try to help wikipedia in all possible ways.
I am an administrator in the Hebrew wikipedia. I spend about 5-6 hours daily writing and editing articles, and also tend my duties as an administrator . I can use some of this time to the Wikipedia Library.
What experience do you have with libraries, academic databases, research support, and/or supporting verification on Wikipedia? How could these experiences strengthen our ability to handle partnerships? I was at the Tel Aviv University for 25 years and taught accounting, finance and system analysis. I left at 2004 but still read academic articles. I know some of the important academic databases in my field, and now enlarged my knowledge as my son is a professor of International law so I learnt about law articles and databases and my twins are in the medical area so also some of the database for medical practitioners. About supporting verification on Wikipedia I use mainly online sources but also books.
What experience do you have in customer service or a related area? Can you comfortably communicate online (on-wiki and by email) with our diverse userbase in a friendly way? CaroleHenson
- User name:CaroleHenson
- Wikipedia experience: I have been on Wikipedia since February 2011. I have been most proud of my work on new and improved Vincent van Gogh articles, WP:WikiProject Women artists articles, particularly artists from the 19th century, and articles about southwestern United States, particularly articles about Colorado and New Mexico prehistorical peoples. Articles that I've worked on are summarized on User:CaroleHenson by topic.
- I work on English language articles.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library: I love doing research and working with other people.
- Wikipedia volunteer obligations: I don't have any obligations for a particular period of time. I am able to work 5 or more hours per week - and perhaps more depending upon the nature of the work.
- Research experience: I have used Questia and HighBeam as a few of the tools for research. I have more than 30 years of experience as a consultant researching legal and business issues, by gathering and researching information over a very wide range of topics. I have been labeled a "forensic editor" by someone here at Wikipedia that I worked with on analysis of citations to cited text, for my ability to research source information and clean-up articles.
- My consulting background was nearly all customer service, serving a wide-range of stakeholders, and using a wide range of communication methods calmly and professionally and to help problem solve.--CaroleHenson (talk) 06:41, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry that it's taken me so long to respond. I think I'll pass for now. I absolutely love research, but I've really been enjoying work on women artists right now. Thanks for your patience.--CaroleHenson (talk) 17:13, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

- a little over a year; I'm most active at AfC, although I've participated at CVUA, MILHIST, GOCE, GA, and DYK. I'm most proud of James Brown (Elvis impersonator) (which I wrote) and Lord Kitchener Wants You which I made a massive re-write of. It's hard to choose favorites.
- English
- I responded to Ocaasi's request. I believe in this program and could spare some effort to keep it running.
- I'm a Wikipedia Visiting Scholar and a WEF Campus Ambassador. I can commit to 4 hours a week, easily.
- My Bachelor's degree is in history, so I've spent a lot of time both physically in libraries doing research and online using JSTOR and other online tools. I have an appreciation for the editors conducting research to improve Wikipedia and I have an understanding of which resources support which research goals. I became a campus ambassador specifically to bring academia to wiki; I'd be glad to bring wiki to academia.
- My interactions on-wiki have received mixed reviews, but I assure you that I'll provide good customer service on your behalf. Certainly I've interacted positively with new editors, academics, and students. Chris Troutman (talk) 05:09, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

- Nearly eight years, on and off. My contributions range from article creation (~250 articles), copyediting and improvement as well as map/template/module creation. I have brought a number of articles to featured and good status - please see my user page for more details.
- English, Chinese, Spanish, although most of my efforts are devoted to en.wikipedia (cf. en edit count ~21,000, zh: 125 es: 4 and a few others adding maps to fr: and :nl etc.)
- Solid referencing is the basis of Wikipedia, library partners and other institutions have sources that aren't yet available online so such partnerships are invaluable. I also understand digitization and ancillary technologies if such skills are needed by a partner.
- None, other than being an administrator on en: and an active member of the Guild of copyeditors. 4-5 hours per week is fine, extra time available as and when required.
- Thanks to the Wikipedia Library I have access to the British Newspaper Archive, and personally to JSTOR. I've done a lot of article work on obscure topics so I am familiar with finding stuff, citation styles and so on. I believe that my experience in these areas, along with my interpersonal and language skills would strengthen Wikipedia's ability to handle partnerships.
- I ran my own software company for 20+ years where the customer always came first and dealt successfully with all sorts of customers, including libraries. Communication on-wiki and offline is no problem-IRC and Skype are available too if required. As I said above, I'm an admin on en wiki; the community wouldn't have handed me a mop if I didn't remain calm and couldn't deal with problems as they arose
Gamaliel
- Gamaliel
- I've been a Wikipedia editor for ten years and an administrator for nine. I'm proud of my work in creating articles to fill the gaps in Wikipedia coverage of a number of areas, including comic strips, female scientists and mathematicians, and library history, including 60+ DYK articles.
- English. I can read and retrieve materials in Spanish, and I have accounts on the Spanish Wikipedia and WikiSource, but substantive communication might be better left to those more fluent than I.
- I've been a Wikipedian and a librarian for ten years, but I've kept those worlds largely separate until now. In the last year or so I've become interested in exploring ways in which I can merge my expertise in those fields.
- Beyond writing for the Signpost and sporadic administrative interventions, I don't have any set obligations. I already devote a number of hours every week to Wikipedia but what I do with those hours differs from week to week, so I could easily fit Library responsibilities into that time.
- I work for an academic library which subscribes to 138 databases and I have experience using and helping patrons use these databases.
- I have years of experience dealing with library patrons and angry Wikipedia editors.
HazelAB (Frances Giberson)
- HazelAB
- My first edit was on January 25, 2011 and I've made 1,484 edits so far. I like to work on articles about history and people, and I'm interested in helping to improve the coverage of New Brunswick, the Canadian province where I live. I'm proud of some NB-related articles that I either created or expanded from stubs, such as The Fountain of Indolence, John Medley, and Mary Grannan. I also do copy editing and fix small mistakes when I notice them. I often check the recent changes and have recently started using Twinkle to roll back vandalism.
- English is my native language and I'm most comfortable communicating in it. I read and write French too. I'm only active on the English Wikipedia.
- I'm a recently retired academic librarian and I love Wikipedia! I want to volunteer with the Wikipedia Library because it seems like a good fit and a good way for me to help out and be more involved in Wikipedia. I'm delighted that publishers and content providers are working with Wikipedia and it would be very satisfying to facilitate that connection.
- I don't have any formal volunteer commitments to Wikipedia, other than the researching and editing I do on my own. I can certainly commit to 4 hours per week or more depending on the need.
- I have lots of experience with libraries, databases, and research support, none with supporting verification on Wikipedia. I retired a year ago from my job as an Information Services Librarian at the University of New Brunswick. My main faculty/student liaison responsibilities were Nursing, Kinesiology, Philosophy, Economics, and Science and Technology Studies. I taught people how to use the databases, and did lots of troubleshooting. (I'm very familiar with the Cochrane Library.) I've had some experience with most of the academic library database packages, including the Science ones. I also have some idea of what's involved in the relationship between content providers and libraries. I think that understanding might be helpful.
- My most relevant customer service experience was as an academic librarian. At work (and often after hours) ! was on call for students, faculty and staff needing help to get access to and efficiently use online resources. Most of the communication took place by email. I'm comfortable with online communication and I stay calm, friendly and focussed on getting the problems solved. HazelAB (talk) 00:18, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in? I have been active in Wikipedia for more than 1 year now. I am more active in Wikimedia Commons uploading images, creating templates, categories etc. In Wikipedia, I have created a few articles (I hope to write more) and I am editing in existing Wikipedia articles (adding references, small texts and images). In addition, I am really interested in gradually becoming more active in wikidata.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects? I speak Greek (native speaker), English (advanced speaker) and Italian (good speaker).
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?*I have been a student in the Wikipedia Library Interns program and I have learned many things through this process. In addition, I really believe in the necessity of this project. So, I would like to support it in practice. It would be a type of pay back for me. - On this account since mid-2005 (with some sporadic IP edits before that). Active in content editing on English Wikipedia, with focus on Scottish culture, jazz and 20th century theorists, in New Page Patrol and in Articles for Deletion discussions.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- Frequent reader of French-language books, German more occasionally and with a struggle. However I don't presume to have either to the level of idiomatic command which I judge necessary to contribute robust content to the respective Wikipedias.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?
- The new library addition of Edinburgh UP, being relatively nearby and lacking a coordinator, pricked my conscience and reminded me that I had previously considered offering to assist with the clerical aspects of Account Coordination. So I am finally offering.

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in
- i have been on wikipedia as an account for about two years, I only recently started being active around July. I mainly edit in MILHIST, especially the Roman MILHIST, which I and a few others took from a one inactive person incubator to a 9 man task force.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- I speak english natively, I have a few years of chinese, and am still learning it. I don't do much editing in other language wikiprojects, except for Wikidata which I work on sometimes, I have uploaded some images to wikicommons.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?
I would like to help the community, by virtue of my editing mainly with Roman subject, I know how frustrating finding good sources can be, because of this I would like to be an account coordinator so that I may help others with this struggle. - How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in?
- Been active for more than 11 years, my main area of activity is new article creation, around 1000 to date.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- Comfortable in English, Bengali and Spanish. Formerly active in BN:WP.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?
- I have a strong interest in history, and believe that a resource like Adam Matthew is a big assist to the project, especially in remedying systemic bias. I saw that no one has volunteered for the post of coordinator for Adam Matthew and decided to apply, as I believe that this is a gap I can help to fill.

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in
- I've been on Wikipedia for about 3-4 years (on-and-off intermittently). To simplify my involvement on WP, I'm involved in antivandal/AIV, patrolling, WP:DRN, WP:Retention objectives, copyediting, and helping newer users with content creation. I try my best to provide consistent help to editors in #wikipedia-en-help (IRC). Feel free to skim through my userpage and my talk page (and contribs if needed) as well to get a sense of WP involvement.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- English (some Spanish, some Hindi); however, I'd request that I be assigned to an English project. Involved on the Beta cluster (see User:JustBerry).
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?
- Some time ago, I had reached out to the library to request access to Elsevier ScienceDirect to help with science-related content creation. One of the library coordinators had responded my request with an email enclosing a form to provide more information before obtaining access. After a few back-and-forth emails, I decided to hold off on filling out the form, as I understand that the library's resources, of course, are quite valuable and could be used elsewhere if I am not using them. More recently, I had stopped by #wikipedia-library to verify that the database access had not accidentally been given to me, i.e. that I was not holding up resources that others could be using. Upon my channel ping, UY_Scuti graciously cross-verified that I did not, in fact, have database access under my name. After further conversation with xim, I realized that the library could definitely use more help. Unlike how Wikipedia readily provides information to people around the world about a variety of topics, unfortunately, editors contributing to Wikipedia don't always have the resources they need to write highly-detailed, highly-technical articles to further the rich repository of information we label as "Wikipedia" today. Realizing that this effort needs help, I am willing to explore the roles that the library needs most help with, i.e. roles--typically--with the most backlog of work to churn through or new roles that people still need to take on (for the project to run smoothly). If I had to choose, I may be best fit for account coordinator, as I screen editors daily (analyzing editor impact/behavior through antivandalism, DRN) and analyzing their problems. Additionally, though, after speaking with current library volunteers, account coordinators currently seem to be needed (and a lack of them is probably the cause of excessive pending requests or a stack of stale access codes--sets of login details--not being used by editors on WP). Finally, I am well aware of how frustrating it is to have resources missing from a library, i.e. seeing an editor take off with an access code with no contributions made (their sense of responsibility wanes). A metaphor of this to my current work: it's almost as if an editor added a substantial amount of information to an article's section, did not adequately source the information to meet some level of verifiability, and other editors are not willing to revert the contributions because the information added seems somewhat plausible (yet, the original contributor can no longer be contacted). --JustBerry (talk) 10:40, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

I'm going on two years of activity now. Most relevant to the work of The Wikipedia Library, I participate quite a bit at the Resource Exchange. I'm an administrator and am active in various areas (closing discussions, WP:SPI, WP:BAG, etc).
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
English. I participate on Commons, but otherwise no.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play?
Account coordinator and/or Research coordinator if the latter role becomes more developed. In particular, I would be very interested in helping set up an IRC channel or (if the WMF will allocate development resources) a live chat on Wikipedia itself staffed by volunteers who can assist editors in performing research for their articles. --~ Rob13Talk 16:15, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in
I have always used Wikipedia as a starting point for any research --- your footnotes to credible sources have always helped me with the research process.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
I can read, write, and speak French and Korean at an elementary level.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?
I want to volunteer with the Wikipedia Library because I believe in excellence in library service --- this is the kind of commitment that the Wikipedia Library abides by on a daily basis when it makes its resources available at no cost to anyone in the world that has access to a computer. Really amazing and remarkable!!! As a librarian, I would like to take on more of an Outreach coordinator or Research coordinator role. I think it's time for me to give back to an amazing virtual community that has helped me with my research many times before!!! --Nkshin (talk) 23:31, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in
- I've been contributing to Wikipedia since December 2014. Since then I've been actively involved in WikiProject India, and WikiProject Military history here, on English Wikipedia. Till date, I've contributed to 3 Featured articles/lists, 2 A-class articles, 1 good topic, 11 good articles, and several DYKs. I've recently been elected a coordinator for WikiProject Military history. Apart from the contributions to the articles, I've also actively been involved in reviewing, I reviewed more that 100 good article nominations. My primary interest is Indian military history related content.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- I'm comfortable in English and Telugu. I am active on Commons, and recently started contributing to Wikidata.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)?
- I've been observing and using the resources provided by TWL, but I see a gap between TWL and Indian organizations. By volunteering for TWL, I'd primarily focus on reaching out to libraries, and similar organizations for partnerships with TWL. Because as India is a home for many Wikimedia projects, I see a great opportunity to collaborate with organizations to help the Wikimedia volunteers in India, and if it prevails, the same would help the Wikimedia volunteers all over the world. My interest best suits for me to be as a partner coordinator.

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in - I have been on mrwiki for last 7 years and 10 months, but I was on and off for many years and since last two years I got active with my participation in actually taking editothons and workshops on "how to edit wikipedia" with government agency Rajya Marathi Vikas Sanstha(State Marathi Development organization) across Maharashtra. I felt huge need to have shareable online scholarly resources, When I met wiki editors from remote villages and cities in Maharashtra state in India, as they don't have access to good physical libraries and online libraries are beyond their reach. So I searched and found TWL, I have been using few resources from TWL till now and it was great help for me. I prefer to keep myself in the areas of social sciences in general and in the themes like gender, sexuality, caste in particular.
I primarily work on mrwiki and rarely on enwiki and I am trying improve content on mrwiki by adding references, we didn't had any tools earlier as citoid or similar but we got it on mrwiki one year ago and it's taking a while to be used widely as people don't know where to search for and what to search for. So, nowadays I help editors on mrwiki using find sources to reach to the probable sources along with my own contributions in translating the enwiki content into mrwiki and adding improving the existing contents.
- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects? - I am comfortable with Marathi, English and Hindi. Yes I am active on mrwiki.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play (Account coordinator|Outreach coordinator|Partner coordinator|Research coordinator|Technical coordinator|Communications coordinator)? - I would love to be research coordinator/research desk coordinator for mrwiki. Currently there is no such thing on mrwiki and it's a huge problem for mrwiki editors to access the scholarly sources to improve the content. So, I would love to do that work on priority. And start a research desk for mrwiki.
With that, if I could get responsibility of account coordinator(maybe limited to Indic wikis or however is possible) I would love to extend my contributions towards that also. I understand that 1/4 hours or more would be needed weekly towards this work and I am ready to engage myself into the above mentioned tasks. I would be really grateful to start research desk on mrwiki, hoping to hear from the coordinators. --Sureshkhole (talk) 21:48, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

- How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in
- I've been with Wikipedia since 2004. I edit somewhat eclectically, but most often within entertainment (broadcasting, TV, movies, actors) or political sociology topics. I am highly-active within the WP:Requested moves process, which often requires some deep-dive research to solve problems found, like inadequate sourcing.

1. How long have you been on Wikipedia, and what areas are you active in?
- I have been active on Wikipedia for 15 years. I primarily work on stub creation, lately for the Women in Red campaign. I have been active with #1Lib1Ref and I have, in the past, done welcoming committee work and AFCH work. I try to add public domain images the Wikipedia.
2. What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?

3. Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play?
- I just want to help get people access to resources which will help them do their work to help make Wikipedia better. I love the Wikipedia Library project. I am a librarian and I think helping with this sort of thing is a perfect merging of my Wikipedia work and my professional work.
I don't have any issue signing a non-disclosure and I have no problem sharing my real name. Thanks! Jessamyn (talk) 02:23, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

- What languages are you comfortable communicating in? Are you active on any non-English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects?
- Unfortunately, I am only comfortable communicating in English. I am active mostly on the English Wikipedia, but I have done some work on Commons and uploaded several files there.
- Why do you want to volunteer with The Wikipedia Library? What role would you like to play?
- I want to make sure that editors that need sources can get them. If people need to research for an article, they should not be forced to use free sources or pay large fees for a subscription that they may not use again.
