Some speakers might pronounce this misspelling differently from the region in the Middle East though, so it's probably best to send them to the disambig page where they won't be as confused in case they meant another topic than the state. - Delete given the ambiguity of the word 'state' itself. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 07:53, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Delete or disambig. This is vauge. My first thought was in the context of computing (c.f. Safe mode), search results show it is used in the context of US politics (and Australian politics), electronic hardware (e.g. Watchdog timer, Dead man's switch), industrial processes (e.g. Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant), Indian states ranking by safety of women, Airworthiness, and others. Reliability engineering seems to cover some of the hardware uses, but what state is a "safe" one is highly context dependent. If someone can craft a disambig for this I support that, but deletion is better if they can't. Thryduulf (talk) 09:30, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Delete as excessively vague. "Safe" and "state" have a myriad of meanings each, so a disambig page would be impractical to edit and challenging to use. Glades12 (talk) 09:27, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

- Wrong warp → Sequence breaking (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
No mention of "wrong warp" exists in the target. Mia Mahey (talk) 00:36, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- It's a video game glitch where a warp sends you to the wrong place. Secondary coverage is bare but passable – Ars Technica and Kotaku have a paragraph and a sentence on it respectively. They don't connect it to sequence breaking though, so it's hard to justify describing it in that article. Maybe it could go in Glossary of video game terms?
- It's also an episode of Meta Runner, but that's definitely not the primary topic. jlwoodwa (talk) 08:11, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Actually, Ars Technica says wrong warping allows
skipping a large section of World 8-4
– sounds like sequence breaking to me. jlwoodwa (talk) 08:16, 30 July 2024 (UTC)- it's a sequence breaking glitch used in super mario bros 3 speedruns, so they're all technically correct cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 15:57, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Actually, Ars Technica says wrong warping allows
- the term seems pretty much exclusively used to refer to a speedrunning glitch in super mario bros. 3, so i'd say retarget to it. or to speedrunning if there's no room to add a mention to any other targets cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 11:24, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
Keep - wrong warping is a technique/glitch where a warp (eg. through a door/loading screen/teleporter/whatever) takes you to the "wrong" place, which is used by sequence breakers. It's used in multiple Mario games (at least original SMB and SMB3, probably others), Pokemon games, Elden Ring, and others. Should be kept because a wrong warp is a way of sequence breaking. Would also be fine with retargetting to Glitching or Speedrunning if consensus leans that way. - Retarget to Warp (video games) and add some sort of explanation. I've heard it used to describe numerous glitches in which teleportation causes a character to end up in the wrong level or area. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 22:34, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget to Warp (video games) and edit target to add explanation - A wrong warp, while oftentimes used in sequence breaking, isn't always beneficial (it's plausible a wrong-warp may send you back or, as in the case of World -1 in Super Mario Bros., softlock the game) and so the article on video game warps is a more reasonable target. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 23:57, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Delete unless mentioned somewhere since the concept of "warp" occurs in several forms of fiction, with one of the highest to come to mind being Star Trek, warping people to the wrong place on a planet or whatever ... Steel1943 (talk) 20:52, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hence why the retargets include adding an explanation to the target. "Wrong warp" is a common speedrunning term for exploiting a bug in a warp system to get somewhere you aren't supposed to go yet/at all. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 18:24, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget to Warp (video games) and add an explanation. A wrong warp is not necessarily a sequence break. It can also be used to access unused beta maps, or access invalid maps which leads to crashes. Ocarina of Time's 100% SRM speedrun is a prime example of the second case, since it has a lot of wrong warp setups that crash the game when done incorrectly. Nickps (talk) 17:54, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
