This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on June 29, 2014.
Physiological and molecular wheat breeding
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was keep. Deletion is ruled out due to attribution issues and neither an alternative target nor an alternative name have been suggested. NAC. The Whispering Wind (talk) 16:58, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
- Physiological and molecular wheat breeding → Plant breeding (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: /delete ]
A redirect target that doesn't make sense. The title too specific, the target too broad. Note that the page history includes content that currently is in a couple other articles, so a rename or history merge solution is required. Ego White Tray (talk) 04:58, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
- Explanation of page history: Talk:Plant breeding#Merge resolution Ego White Tray (talk) 05:00, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
- Keep this is at least nominally a merge. Therefore maintain attribution. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 12:34, 11 June 2014 (UTC).
- I was thinking rename first and then keep. Thoughts on that idea? Ego White Tray (talk) 02:29, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- Ego White Tray, what should it be moved to? --BDD (talk) 16:45, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- Keep: I don't see any problems with this redirect. Both "physiological breeding" and "molecular breeding" are relevant terms, and they are applicable to wheat. This article should never have been created, but now we have a cpyright issue and no particular problems with article's name. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 21:44, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

G word
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 19:18, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Gay is not the only "G word" and it's not especially mentioned in the article. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 15:21, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Keep: plausible homophobic search term. The implication that the word "gay" may not be spoken in public might be offensive to homosexuals, but it is (unfortunately) not uncommon enough to make this search term implausible. I am not sure that it passes WP:NOTDICT though. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 21:16, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- I was looking to see if there was an article about G as used in hiphop slang (Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang) but came up with nothing, so I say delete. Ego White Tray (talk) 04:23, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Delete, as a so-called “homophobe” myself, i tell you that it is not a plausible search term. You seem to think that your “homophobes” think about gays all the time, which is not true. (talk) 09:15, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
- Disambiguate, there seems to be many other uses for this term, see http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=G-Word TheChampionMan1234 05:28, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I don't think I've ever seen any other meaning of "G word" from that list. I don't live in English-speaking country though. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 11:15, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- You're joking, right, Champion? We're not urban dictionary, and none of those are credible enough to list on a disambig. Ego White Tray (talk) 04:42, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Pointless redirect Darkness Shines (talk) 11:18, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Keep. This is the original name of the page, per the deletion and move histories: please refer these two diffs: [1] and [2]. As much as this title is odd, I have no desire to see attributions break. Steel1943 (talk) 15:37, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- FWIW deletion of this redirect won't break attribution: only care about edit history, which remains intact in target page anyway. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 21:36, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Strong keep: this redirect resides in "User:" namespace, and it is not offensive or misleading. Russavia knows better whether he needs it, and we are not entitled to decide for him. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 21:29, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

Misleading redirect. I don't know where to retarget to, if there is no target, we should just delete it. TheChampionMan1234 09:57, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Keep: all of these are covered in the target, in multiple places. I see nothing misleading about them. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 21:55, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was retarget to Finder (software). --BDD (talk) 19:01, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- Burn folder → OS X (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: /delete ]
- Burn Folder (does not exist yet)
I know its a component of the OS, but the current target is misleading, yet the word 'burn' does not appear anywhere in the target. Also there are no related articles, I found this out by using Google to search WP see [3] TheChampionMan1234 09:53, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Retarget to Finder (software), which handles the folder itself. I mentioned this feature there, so this redirect is now appropriate. It seems that the actual name is "Burn Folder" (with capital "F"), so I also suggest creating this redirect and pointing it to the same place. (I added non-existing Burn Folder redirect to this discussion; please don't create it until discussion ends.) — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 22:27, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

Delete this as no use retargeting to Barack Obama due to the fact of how it needs to be manually updated. TheChampionMan1234 09:46, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- There are many such redirects, to be consistent with which this page, if kept, should redirect to Barack Obama. Gorobay (talk) 12:15, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Note: this redirect on was previously discussed on 27 January 2009. At that time it was pointing to Barack Obama. Result of that discussion was "Retarget to President of the United States". — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 22:44, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Keep: plausible search term outside US, probably even aids in accidential linking. I oppose retargetting because this redirect will become misleading after next election, and there is no guarantee that it will be updated in time. Actual name of current president and wikilink to corresponding article is easy to find in the current target. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 22:44, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Delete per nom as first preference. Nothing explicitly forbids time-sensitive redirects, but I think they're more trouble than they're worth. As a second preference, retarget to Barack Obama, since that's clearly what the reader would be seeking rather than a general article. I'm opposed to keeping the redirect as is. --BDD (talk) 18:55, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Refine target to President of the United States#Timeline of Presidents that has the advantage of providing the information being sought. The Whispering Wind (talk) 23:10, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- Unless a reader is using a very large screen, this would be the only option that doesn't show them the current president right off the bat. I'm not sure this is such a good idea. --BDD (talk) 23:46, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, you are right of course so Keep. The Whispering Wind (talk) 01:13, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

- Delete per WP:FORRED. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 22:45, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Delete since the symbol also mean other things such as "brave".--Lenticel (talk) 02:54, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Retarget to Tiger in Chinese culture, which is the only appropriate article this could refer to. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 05:51, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- The character evolved from a pictogram of a tiger, and there's no article on bravery in Chinese culture, so "Tiger in Chinese culture" is the appropriate target; it is a Chinese specific article. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 05:26, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was delete and keep, respectively. Apologies if this feels like a supervote, but given the moving of the target page, the outcomes here seem clear. Deletion of the (disambiguation) title follows the new Fish Lake precedent, while the shorter title is the former page title. --BDD (talk) 18:59, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

This term is unlikely to require disambiguation and the redirect isn't to a dab page. See related discussion Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2014_June_6#List_of_lakes_named_Fish_Lake_.28disambiguation.29. DexDor (talk) 06:15, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
Keep: target page passes DAB duck test, so it is a disambiguation page with wrong title. It should be probably moved over redirect to Marcus Claudius Marcellus (disambiguation), and then this redirect should be speedy deleted, but page moves are out of RfD scope. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 23:15, 29 June 2014 (UTC)- List of Romans named Marcus Claudius Marcellus was moved to Marcus Claudius Marcellus (disambiguation). I added former to this nomination. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 14:42, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Bypass and delete list of Romans named Marcus Claudius Marcellus: implausible search query. Then speedy delete list of Romans named Marcus Claudius Marcellus (disambiguation) per G8 (pages dependent on a non-existent or deleted page). — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk•track) 14:42, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

- Keep urban luzon, ethnic groups in the philippines, demographics of the philippines and arts of the philippines: lower case titles are completely valid. Delete Indeginous Peoples from the Philippines (plausible typo and weird capitalization) and Philippinespopulation (weird concatination): implausible redirects, and stats prove that even bots are not interested in these two. — Dmitrij D.
