- Wikipedia Reference Desk → Library reference desk (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: /delete ]
This keeps getting re-targeted. So far it's been targeted at Wikipedia, Wp:Reference desk, Library reference desk. What should the target be? (This used to be an article, but it was merged into Wikipedia.) Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 19:07, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Reference desk is the closest target, I think. bobrayner (talk) 19:24, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Reference desk If one of our readers looks up "Wikipedia Reference Desk" their looking for our reference desk, not for an article about reference desks. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 21:35, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Add a hatnote to Wikipedia:Reference Desk instead, fixes the CNR issue while retaining the desired Wiki Ref desk.--Lenticel (talk) 01:28, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
- Adding a hatnote to Wikipedia:Reference desk wouldn't do anything to help readers who look up "Wikipedia Reference Desk" and find themselves somewhere other then our Reference Desk. Also there's not much of a cross-namespace redirect issue here. The big anti-CNR argument is probably (from WP:CNR "CNRs are bad because they result in a person (reader) walking around a building (encyclopedia) and falling into the pipework (project space) because the builders (editors) thought cracks in the walls and floors would be useful for them to get around." but our reference desk exists for our readers, so in this case that's an argument for keeping this CNR. - Delete a {{selfref}} at reference desk would be all that's needed, and it already exists (at the target of reference desk) -- 70.24.247.66 (talk) 03:46, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- This can't be deleted, or at least not easily. It was an article until it was merged into Wikipedia, and we need the edit history to give the contributors credit. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 17:59, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- Retarget to Wikipedia:Reference Desk, most likely the intended target. CNRs pointing people to where they want to go are much better than ugly self-referential hatnotes in article space. —Kusma (t·c) 14:27, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- This won't remove the need for the hatnote at Library reference desk because Reference desk would still redirect there. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 17:59, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- Retarget to Wikipedia:Reference Desk, which is almost certainly the desired target. Per EHC, the reference desk is a reader-facing location aimed at answering factual questions they have - it is sort of a halfway house between encyclopaedia and project spaces. - Wikipedia:ALLSTEEZY → ALLSTEEZY (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: /delete ]
Page was created through an errant move. Editor intended to move his user page to an article page. This page has no purpose. SummerPhD (talk) 02:01, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
