Jezhotwells (talk · contribs) I would welcome a review of my editing since rejoining Wikipedia, previously in 2006/7 had user name Hotwellian, but access lost when mail account lost. Jezhotwells (talk) 15:18, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

  • Hi there, Jezhotwells! Looking at your contributions, you've made solid contributions to articles, and are also working well with maintainence issues such as vandalism. You've been doing well in areas such as WP:Editor assistance, which is greatly appreciated. I would strongly recommend that you work in other areas of the WP namespace, such as WP:XfD or maybe even here at WP:ER. Keep it up! -download | sign! 21:28, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Good job never being blocked and really looking over your and Hotwellian's edits, nothing jumped out as a major concern. If you are looking for areas to help with or expand editing at in addition to those suggested by Download, we can always use extra help at Wikipedia:Article_Rescue_Squadron, which is a good opportunity to earn rescue barnstars and possibly contribute to future good status articles. • Since Dec 08 I've seen loads of your edits on Bristol related articles (especially getting Bristol to GA) & I've never been anything but impressed. I can't comment on areas such WP:XfD as I know little about how they work, although I know they are important, but I can comment on a balanced & careful approach to article writing which really improves wikipedia. I've also spotted the diplomatic way you've handled difficult issues (eg Noah's Ark Zoo Farm) - keep up the good work.— Rod talk 10:47, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am proud of my contributions to various articles about Bristol in the WP:WikiProject Bristol also to a number of theatre articles.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Yes, I have unfortunately had conflicts with User:NYScholar over the style of articles relating to Harold Pinter. Unfortunately this editor seems incapable of understanding that Wikipedia is for the general reader, not a scholarly treatise, and resists efforts by others to clean up the style and make articles readable. Any comments are treated by this editor as personal attacks and removed from talk pages. This has led to one instance where I replied inappropriately, for which I apologised. However this editor continues to respond in an 'elitist and patronising' way (see comment by User:Florrie at Talk:The_arts_and_politics#Readability) which does not help.
