- Propose splitting Category:Romani anarchists to Category:Anarchists and Category:Romani activists
- Nominator's rationale: Dual merge. Non-defining intersection per EGRS. There is no other ethnicity category for Anarchists Mason (talk) 21:02, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose split. There have been scholarly works written about Romani anarchists and the intersection between being a Romani person and an anarchist (e.g. Sierra & Pro 2022), including about the ones categorised here. It has definitely been a defining characteristic: Mariano Vázquez was subject to anti-Romani sentiment because of his status as a leading anarchist in the civil war; Helios Gómez depicted life as a Romani anarchist in his historical fiction novels, at a time when he was persecuted by the Francoist dictatorship as both an anarchist and a Roma person. --Grnrchst (talk) 21:36, 3 August 2024 (UTC)

- Single merge to Category:Romani anarchists per WP:EGRS. The second merge target is unnecessary, the articles are already in the tree of Category:Anarchists. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:27, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose split, for the same reason as Grnrchst. Not to mention that
There is no other ethnicity category for Anarchists
is incorrect; Category:Jewish anarchists exists for the same reason. -- asilvering (talk) 22:57, 7 August 2024 (UTC) - Oppose per Grnrchst and asilvering. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 00:49, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: Too similar and overlapping with Category:Regular 3-honeycombs. Previously contained mostly redirects. Propose merging Category:Family of Aaron to Category:Family of Moses- Propose merging Category:Family of Moses to Category:Family of Aaron and rename to Category:Family of Aaron and Moses
- Nominator's rationale: There's a huge overlap between these categories. Since Aaron and Moses were brothers, they have the same family.
Moses is the more prominent member so it makes sense for the category to be named after him.Mclay1 (talk) 13:28, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Weak oppose, the category contains the wife and children of Aaron, so Aaron is the defining characteristic. Marcocapelle (talk) 13:33, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Aaron's wife and children were also part of Moses's family, being his sister-in-law and nephews/nieces. We have many categories for families, which group a lot of distant relatives together, which is preferable to a load of overlapping categories of close relatives. If it's important to mention Aaron too, it could be renamed Category:Family of Aaron and Moses. Mclay1 (talk) 13:59, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Rename to Category:Family of Aaron and Moses per Mclay1's suggestion. The high priests typically claimed descent from Aaron. Dimadick (talk) 18:09, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- In that case, we should probably reverse merge since Category:Family of Aaron is older. Mclay1 (talk) 03:05, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- Rename to Category:Family of Aaron and Moses per Mclay1's suggestion. The high priests typically claimed descent from Aaron. Dimadick (talk) 18:09, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Category:Family of Aaron and Moses is a good suggestion. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:54, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

- Propose deleting Category:Netflix television dramas ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Nominator's rationale:
Seems like an WP:OVERLAPCAT with Category:Netflix original programming.Withdrawing this CfD I proposed as it is better to rename it than deleting. 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂 • [𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺] 13:22, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose – Category:Netflix television dramas is a subcat of Category:Netflix original programming. The parent cat contains a lot of articles that should be diffused to this category. If it is deleted, it should be upmerged. It's also a valid subcat of the fairly new category tree for Category:Drama television series by network. Mclay1 (talk) 13:36, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- I agree. Deleting this category would cause a lot of issues. And it doesn't overlap with Category:Netflix original programming, Historyday01 (talk) 15:24, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Netflix in the first place is not television channel but rather an Over-the-top media service, that alone already fails the category title. Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+ and many others don't have that kind of category, so why make this special? And the user who created that cat just move like 1% of what was in Category:Netflix original programming. Also see this related CfD. 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂 • [𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺] 22:42, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think the difference between a streamer and a broadcast network is meaningful any more (in this context). If Netflix doesn't fit into the name of Category:Drama television series by network, then that category should be renamed. There's no reason those other streamers can't also have a similar category if they have enough content to justify it. Just because the user didn't finish populating the category, that's not a reason to delete it. And I don't think this is a trivial intersection compared to language. Mclay1 (talk) 03:09, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

- Propose deleting Category:Members of the 118th United States Congress ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Nominator's rationale: This is overcategorization. Members of Congress are notable for being members, but not for being members of each individual Congress. Taking this to its logical conclusion, Nancy Pelosi, who was elected to Congress in 1987, would require an additional 19 categories (100th-118th Congress), not to mention the 119th US Congress when that opens. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:51, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Strong Oppose I’m the person who made this category. The reason why I’m making it is because there are categories for every single UK parliament MP listing. So I don’t understand why the U.S. doesn’t have it similarly. Yeah it would give articles like Pelosi, McConnell, etc longer articles as a result, but I think it’s ok because I feel all of this is important. Vinnylospo (talk) 05:25, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Sounds like an WP:OTHERSTUFF argument for examining UK parliament categories, not for keeping this one. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:44, 3 August 2024 (UTC)

- Support per nom. This is category pollution. Stefen Towers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 04:20, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Further, to answer the category creator, see WP:CATDEF. The question here is whether reliable, secondary sources tend to refer to a member of Congress as a member of a specific Congress, and my impression is usually they do not, but rather they refer to them in terms of their entire tenure or whether they are a current or former member. Due to this and the unwieldiness of adding a lot more categories in likely a lot of articles, I think lists of members per Congress (like we already do in "nth United States Congress" articles) makes a lot more sense. Stefen Towers among the rest! Gab • Gruntwerk 21:56, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
