Another spot back-added to the maps from the 1876 atlas, as every topo before 2013 shows only the Walnut Grove Church, which is still there along with a sizeable graveyard. Our "town" shows up a lot in searches, either in lists of post offices or noted as a post office itself, or as a place people were "from". So I don't see evidence that this was a town, and if it was, it most likely wasn't here precisely, because the spot is a ways away from the creek. Mangoe (talk) 11:38, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

- Hurrah! We are still in Knox. ☺ The county histories provide exactly 1 piece of information, when discussing where people built stuff in Harrison Township: James D. Williams built a water mill on Pond Creek in 1836. The contemporary gazetteers have the post office, of course, confirming Baker. The creek isn't a settlement focus, per the history books which rather deal with the Township, and the geographers concern themselves more with East Fork White River and its tributaries collectively, which would certainly encompass any discussion of the historical swamp drainage of Montour's Pond; so there's no Busseron Creek (AfD discussion) refactoring equivalent to be had, here. - This [1] 1926 history article states "An effort was made to establish a town about the mill site, but this was never done." Essentially this was a place name after the post office and mill.Milowent • hasspoken 20:10, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
