The moment I saw that AfD comment, I knew it was going to be fun. At least this time there's a relatively strong admission of WP:OTHERSTUFF in play, as well as a bit of an ownership thing going on, so we do at least know for sure what the user's actions are based on. Orphaned non-free image File:The Ranch poster.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:The Ranch poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:11, 20 June 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Amélie Veille

Hello. This page has been tagged for speedy deletion under the a7 criteria.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Being a singer-songwriter with four albums is an indication of notability. The speedy tag in less than a minute of article creation was inappropriate. --Oakshade (talk) 20:19, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

The article Daphne Scoccia has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. PamD 06:20, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:10, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

Ways to improve Joana Bárcia
Hello, Oakshade,
Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for creating Joana Bárcia! I edit here too, under the username Boleyn and it's nice to meet you :-)
I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-
Please add your references - it is a requirement that all biographies of living people have WP:INLINECITED refs. Imdb is unreliable, so isn't one to use.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Boleyn}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

- DonIago, I've been editing on WP since 2006 so the "Welcome to Wikipedia" tag is factually incorrect, as were the tags that were placed on the article in question. It is a straight forward biography with many sources and the "Peacock" tag didn't match the article content. The tags, which were placed there five years ago, were basically this:
- I advise placing a "Citations needed" mark on the specific content you feel is controversial. Oakshade (talk) 22:47, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
- If the issues have been addressed, that's cool and I have no issues with the removal, but that's not the reason you cited in your edit summary. DonIago (talk) 00:04, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Northampton
Just FYI: the reason that I removed several paragraphs from Northampton and several other stations was because they were substantially outdated, and not really related. Any history of the various service proposals on the Connecticut River Line really belongs on that article; I replaced that with the sentence about the service that was actually implemented. (I was the one who originally wrote the older paragraphs as well.) Pi.1415926535 (talk) 03:04, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lera Loeb

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Lera Loeb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Toddst1 (talk) 18:59, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
Re: Speedy deletion of Lera Loeb by TomStar81 less than 4 hours after notice & Deletion review for Lera Loeb
First off, my apologies for the extremely long delay between your message and my reply. I work a twelve hour night shift on a week on week off basis and it leaves little time for other activities, so Wikipedia and Wiki-related issues usually sit on the back burner during my work week. That being said, you've got questions and no editor or contributor for that matter likes a delay between the question and the reply. For that you have my apologies.
First of all, a correction: I did not tag the article for speedy deletion, the tagger was Toddst1 (talk · contribs). I deleted the article, which is not the same thing. Take care that you assign the right action to the right editor, there can be ramifications for false claims in situations such as this.
Second, you article had exactly zero claim of significance. The external link section all goes to sites that are usually frowned on here, and two citations to a magazine article a UK internet article do not establish reliable independent third party coverage for a biographical article's sources to the standards set forth by Wikipedia. A check of the google search included in the csd template for admins also fails to ride to your rescue here: most celebrates judged significant or notable enough to be on Wikipedia have millions of results, while your girl has just under 700,000. My city has a greater population than the search results, and when you account for mirrors, repeat coverage, and social media that has little if any place in or on a Wikipedia article that number inevitably shrinks further. Compounding the problem is that she's not in any major movie production, the article states only a "short film" but in a broad sense anything can be considered a "short film" - mom's camcorder capture of my piano recital could be considered a short film, as could any of the instructional videos for audio read thorough of a Wikipedia article. None of that remotely establishes significance, let alone notability as you have claimed.
As for mail order brides, that sounds like a nice solid foundation for an article to be built on, but she is not the first mail order bride, nor will she be the last, and while it does make her story unique, it fails to establish significance or notability because its not been a major factor in her life's story or life's work to date. Contrast that with Greta Thunberg, for example, whose only claim to significance is whining loudly in public, but unlike Lera she's considered an international hero for her ability to waste time by preaching to ignorant masses who either legitimately care about her BS or pretend to in order to elevate her status. The sole difference between the two of girls is a cruel third party that interprets notability and significance by adding context, and from that you reach the threshold for inclusion here.
You are, of course, free to protest, however a deletion review is unlikely to be a productive venue for your petition for redress of grievances because victory at deletion review will defeat you: when the article makes it to afd it'll be deleted, after which your CSD-A& tag will be switched out for the far more potent CSD-G4 tag. G4 speedy deletion criteria prohibits articles deleted via afd discussion from returning at or anywhere near their form at the time they were axed, so you'd end up winning the battle and losing the war. Food for thought. TomStar81 (Talk) 06:37, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
- TomStar81, firstly apologies for the confusion over who was the tagger and deleter. Apologies were made in the DRV too.
- More importantly your speedy deletion of this article on the grounds of A7 was inappropriate and hence it was reversed. Both the verbiage of “She was revealed to be a mail order bride” and the very in-depth Glamour piece about this topic which was linked in the article at the time of your deletion demonstrated an arguable case for passing our notability standards. As you’re an administrator you should’ve already known that A7 is a much lower standard than notability and any evidence of notability negates A7. This was repeatedly expressed to you by multiple other administrators and editors in the DRV.
- You were, of course, free to protest at the deletion review, however the deletion review overturned your deletion and after a full-term AfD the article was unanimously kept in the same form as when you speedy deleted it, causing you, in your word, defeat. Next time you contemplate using your current administrative powers to delete an article that has GNG-passing coverage in it under the grounds of the lower standard of A7, you should at most send it to AfD and therefore you can prevent such unnecessary discussion, or in your words "a complete waste of time and creation of drama" and "goat breeding festival," by the community and a "defeat" on your part in the future. Food for thought. Oakshade (talk) 23:34, 24 November 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of List of people with coronavirus disease 2019

A tag has been placed on List of people with coronavirus disease 2019 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
the page has been deleted and is currently pending DRV; it does not need to be recreated with a notice, unless an adminstrator restores its history and blanks it, which is not the case here.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. MrClog (talk) 16:00, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
- Just to follow up on the above, only administrators should add {{Temporarily undeleted}} because only they have the ability to undelete pages. Thanks, Mz7 (talk) 18:42, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
