Series of Visualization articles translated into Chinese

I am very pleased and honoured to see you translate a series of (my) visualization articles into Chinese and initiated a peer-reviewing. As I explained on the Talk:Data visualization I am very interested in the results.

Now I wonder if it would be possible to translate the Michael Friendly article as well. I am in debt to him because of his excellent Milestones in the History of Thematic Cartography, Statistical Graphics, and Data Visualization website, which gives an excellent overview of the history of the visualization in the West. Now off course I don't know who important that would be for the Chinese!? Thanks again. -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 23:43, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Current results for the three articles have been explained on the Talk:Data visualization. I'd like to translate have translated the Michael Friendly article if possible into a Chinese article. But in fact, I am not familiar the community in the Chinese-speaking world.--Linforest (talk) 08:54, 16 March 2009 (UTC)--Linforest (talk) 00:50, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have allready seen it today and I am very happy. Thanks you very much. I will get back on this. -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 02:13, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I will follow your example and translate the Michael Friendly article into Dutch soon (not as fast as you).
That will be great!--Linforest (talk) 06:25, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, maybe I won't yet. I would like to translate the whole series to the Dutch Wikipedia as you started, but my priority at the moment is continuing the series on the English Wikipedia. I have still some mayor problems to encouter here, so this might take some more time. -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 10:38, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
An other thing is that on Wikicommons I encoutered some problems with the copyright status of some of the images in the series of visualization articles. I could be possible that some images will be deleted there. On the English Wikipedia I can reupload these images, under fair use/non free use. Now I wonder if in the Chinese Wikipedia, is that also an option? -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 02:37, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Two of the images has already been deleted in the article Scientific visualization and its Chinese translation. I have added two altenatives to replace the two. Also deleted was one of the images (In-spire_overview.jpg) in the article Information visualization due to the copyright violation.--Linforest (talk) 06:21, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am not very familiar with such an issue because I am just a freshman for wikipedia. But I'll check it out.--Linforest (talk) 06:25, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please Let just keep this talk item on one place here. I am sorry about those images. For me it is also a complicated matter, what is allowed and what not. I am having a discussion on Wikipedia about it, and have tried to contact the institute, who provided the images. I haven't considered readding these images to the Wikipedia under fair use, but maybe one day I will. I will keep you informed. -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 10:28, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, Let's keep this item only here for convenience. Thanks a lot for your timely response. --Linforest (talk) 11:31, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
