Stephen Colbert / GA
Hey Bailey,
I could be entirely mistaken. Let me make sure -- Stephen Colbert was listed as a GA until a short time ago?
Also, I saw the comments and questions you left on my talk page. I will give thorough responses and attention to detail tomorrow. :-)

FAC
It seems this one won't be the one to provoke a reference revolution, as the problem has been eliminated by trimming unfavorable reviews. But if you are considering reviewing the article for support or opposition, I've fixed the first round of problems (except for sales figures). --Zeality 14:24, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
VP 1.3
I'm having a similar problem but only from time to time. I've found that if I uncheck "Use RSS feed" under file, I can use VP normally, but without all the cool features of the RSS feed. Sometimes I can use the RSS feed though and I can't figure out why. But try that, and see if it works for now. Cheers. Dina 22:46, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Green Light
Both Merriam Webster online dictionary and MS Word agree that "Green light" is indeed two words. I changed it in the Colbert article but did not change the links or the article it linked to. Rrten00 23:57, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Colbert
The issue of Rolling Stone is on newsstands now UNTIL until November 16th. Magazines put the expiration date or month on the cover. And I provided the page number 139 where he states exactly when and why he started using a silent T. If you would rather I wait until the entire article is available on online, then fine. But providing other easily referrable sources is just as good when the source is not available online. I provided an easily referrable source, you didn't. MrBlondNYC 07:48, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. Sorry if I came off as snippy. My only problem was that you didn't cite a source. Colbert does mention his father in regards to his name change in Rolling Stone but he says he made his choice after he died. So in trying to condense it in my addition I focused more on him wanting to reinvent himself. This is exactly what he says: My father always wanted to be Col-bear. He lived in the same town as his father, and his father didn't like the idea of the name with the French pronunciation. So my father said to us 'Do what you want. You're not going to offend anybody'. And he was dead long before I made my decision. I was flying up to theater school at Northwestern, and I sat next to an astronaut, actually. And I told him I was going off to a new school. I was transferring to Northwestern and I didn't know anyone in Chcago. He said 'Oh, wow, you could really reinvent yourself out there.' When the plane took off I was Col-bert and when it landed I was Col-bear. So maybe we can work together in trying to add the different explanations to the article. Possibly a seperate section is needed. MrBlondNYC 20:01, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
- So Lee Bailey, would you mind if I restore the part about Colbert changing the pronunciation of his name? I think it should be in there but I should also include that it was originally his father's desire to change it. MrBlondNYC 06:14, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- That's great work. I made a small change. I added "comedically" because it was "Stephen Colbert" who said "It's French, bitch!". I don't think Stephen Colbert ever referred to himself as French. But "Stephen Colbert" did. MrBlondNYC 20:31, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Lain FAC
Hi! I've answered to most of your comments on the [Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Serial Experiments Lain|Lain FAC] (except the one about not using all sources, cound't help with that one). Would you mind having a look and commenting? Thanks in advance.--SidiLemine 11:40, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Lee. I believe all your demands have been met. The game is removed, the "controversy" has been reworded, printed sources have been added (including Napier's work), and exmples have been tweaked and sourced to link them to the general theme. This is all summed at the FAC. Please let me know if there is anything else. Btw, would you know someone with good copyediting skills that could lend a hand for a final polish? Apparently the copyedit gang doesn't like it as it is.--SidiLemine 14:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Fair use images in user namespace
Hello! You have used fair use images in your user namespace (User:Lee Bailey/sandbox). Criterion 9 of the Wikipedia:Fair use criteria states that "Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine." I have removed them on these grounds. Sincerely, --Oden 21:06, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Lain FAC again
Hi! Just letting you know that Serial Experiments Lain is up at FAC again. I was hoping you could participate again, as your remarks proved very productive and accurate on the last one. Happy holydays!--SidiLemine 12:16, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Lee! Nice to hear from you. I'm sorry to read about the hospital thing, I hope it's nothing too serious and everyone is fine and well by now. About the FAC, I have to confess that I was almost relieved not to see you, since your critics were the hardest and the most challenging on the last one! For these reasons, I would love it if you had any others I could work on for Lain, as I'd like to keep it off FARC for as long as possible. Please let me know if you need comments for PR, CE, FAC, GAC, or basically anything else. All Yours, --SidiLemine 17:15, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Stephen Colbert FAC2 possibility
I am attempting to determine the progress of Stephen Colbert. You at one time were the lead editor. You seem to be inactive now. Is this ready for WP:FAC? TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 15:55, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- I am trying to get assurances that all the review problems from WP:FAC, WP:GAC, & WP:PR (even the automated review) have been addressed by the editors. If so, then I am looking for someone close enough to the article to shepherd it through a 2nd FAC run to nominate it. TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 17:23, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Basically, it is a very well developed article. If you tell me you have addressed all the concerns I will move it from GA to A status. Then whenever its convenient to you put it up for WP:FAC. In short, yes I agree. TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 17:57, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- How do we stand? TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 12:49, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- By the way, it seems to be going through WP:FAC right now. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 17:29, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Exit57.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Exit57.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 03:25, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MfD nomination of User:Lee Bailey/sandbox
User:Lee Bailey/sandbox, a page which created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Lee Bailey/sandbox and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Lee Bailey/sandbox during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 04:14, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
The file File:Userbailey-nes.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused personal image.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Kelly hi! 17:57, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Colbert report.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Colbert report.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 06:01, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
