Overlinking

Hi King ChristLike - I have reverted a few of your edits, at Imo State and Port Harcourt, for overlinking - so I have come to explain the reason.
We do NOT link the article title, as this produces a circular link back to the top of same page.
As explained at ‎ WP:OVERLINKING we only link the first use of a term in an article, and we do not normally link:-

  • Everyday words understood by most readers - such as "stream" and "project" in the Imo state article
  • Names familiar to most readers, including;- major countries, major cities, major languages, major nationalities/ethnicities and major religions
  • Common units of measurement and dates such as February in the Port Harcourt article

There are many articles where these are already, incorrectly, linked; however, we are trying to reduce this problem, not increase it - Thanks - Arjayay (talk) 11:25, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Arjayay for the guidance. King ChristLike (talk) 12:40, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Chidi appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 12:30, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

IP Block

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 129.205.113.196/ I’d appreciate an immediate exemption. Thank you. King ChristLike (talk) 22:58, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You've made many edits subsequent to this request, so you are not affected by a block. 331dot (talk) 06:02, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Yes, alternatively, I’m using a different network provider to make my edits but it’s a borrowed one and the connection is poor, not as smooth as mine. I’d be very grateful if my original IP address is unblocked to enable my effective contribution. Thank you. King ChristLike (talk) 07:18, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Image context

Howdy, Thank you for adding images to pages. Can you please add a caption to explain the image and place it in an appropriate place. On Matyáš Kopecký you just placed the image in the body when the info box would've been better. Also captions must accurately explain the image Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Captions and its significance. Paulpat99 (talk) 09:41, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. Thanks for the information. King ChristLike (talk) 09:51, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that captions should not be in bold and should ideally be in the infobox. Thank you. – Isochrone (talk) 10:14, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is the problem with the #WPWP image spam contest- it encourages people to add lots of images, without assessing whether the images added are useful or well captioned. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:42, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

August 2024

Leaving a figure caption in Russian in the English Wikipedia [1] was not really a smart idea. Please in the future slow down and make an effort to write reasonable captions in English. If this continues, editing restrictions might be in order. Ymblanter (talk) 20:29, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected it. Thanks for pointing that out. King ChristLike (talk) 20:44, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hi King ChristLike. Thank you for your work on Micah Jiba. Another editor, Vanderwaalforces, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thank you for creating this, King ChristLike. Please, check the history of this article, I made some corrects which you must note. For example, you should not cite webpages like this one, that is a tag page and not an actual news piece, the page you wanted to cite was this one which I have corrected. Same goes for this one which was supposed to be cited to this one. It is also important you know that, it doesn't make sense to use Wikipedia as a citation on Wikipedia, hence, why I removed your citation to 2023 Nigerian House of Representatives election via the <ref> tag. Please take note of these for future creations. Happy editing!

Unreliable sources

Hello King ChristLike, I hope you're having a great Friday already. Talking about sources and their reliability, this source which you cited in Draft:Paschal Chigozie Obi is utterly unreliable and not suitable for use on English Wikipedia because it is a free web host site. Again, here is a list of Nigerian sources you want to look out for when researching about politicians. Any web link that looks like example.wordpress.com, example.wixsite.com or example.anywebhost.com is not a reliable source. You must also watch out for close paraphrasing. Always write here in your own words. Avoid copying directly from sources. Happy editing! Vanderwaalforces (talk) 09:37, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing

Hello King ChristLike, I hope you had a chance to review my earlier message regarding close paraphrasing. Unfortunately, it seems the same issue persists. Specifically, in the article Uju Kingsley Chima, you directly copy-pasted content from The World Satellite. During the training, I emphasised the importance of gathering your sources, reading and understanding them, and rewriting the information in your own words while maintaining fidelity to the source. Copying and pasting word-for-word is a clear violation of Wikipedia's policy on copyright and will not be tolerated.

Please consider this your final warning. Any further violations will result in immediate disqualification from the contest. I encourage you to review and strictly adhere to these guidelines to ensure your contributions meet the expected standards.

Happy editing, and best of luck, Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:03, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
