Hi, just to say thanks for taking up the request for the new Non-League task force logo! Much appreciated. Delsion23 (talk) 09:58, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, no problem, seems I forgot to upload it though. And now the request is gone. so here it is, if the Task Force wants any changes just let me know any I'll make them. — Jdcollins13 (talk) 20:24, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
English Non-league football task force vector logo
It's looking great, thanks! The only change that may be good would be for the NL to be white (or any lighter colour) so that it is more readable with the red/orange background. Delsion23 (talk) 20:48, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Help on User Behaviour

A user (say User-1) cited meru shikhara lai in a Wikipedia talk page on 3 August 2012.

Same day I asked User-1 to write entire hymn in his native language script as because I found lai can have at least 3 different words in his native language. In addition, I asked User-1 to write 2 other words both in her/his native script as well as Devanagari script.

A 2nd user (say User-2) jumped over and started responding for User-1. The User-2 indicated that s(he) is not disingenuous - s(he) as well as User-1 would not respond.

It is 10-day past since I asked for this information.

Any feedback/suggestion so that I get the information from User-1 and or User-2?

Appreciate it very much, thanks!

Kurmaa (talk) 13:08, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think first of all, if you wish to discuss the matter separately with User1 and User2, you might consider politely contacting them on each User's personal talkpage.
As far as their not responding to you, Wikipedia is all volunteers, so they aren't under any obligation to make any edits, nor respond to any comments. So there really is not much you can do besides wait for a response or try to seek out other users with the linguistic knowledge to assist you. I hope this is helpful. — Jdcollins13 (talk) 14:37, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I shall take this approach as 1st step, appreciate it very much. It has caught my attention, according to a source, User-1 has been enjoying lump-sum-payment time-to-time from a local group out there for producing Wikipedia articles. -Kurmaa (talk) 20:07, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That seems to be a touch vague to me, but if you have valid proof of a conflict of interest, then you should go to an Admin with that information. — Jdcollins13 (talk)
Working on it as well, appreciate it very much, -Kurmaa (talk) 18:54, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
User:Kurmaa has given me a specific date by which to reply, which sounds like a WP:NLT issue to me ([1]). I have answered his queries to the best of my abilities. ([2]). Could you advise what is the best possible path for me to take on this? Thanks. Chaipau (talk) 16:02, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As I told Kurmaa, you are under absolutely no obligation to reply or edit, so your actions are totally up to you. If you wish to reply to his coments, or assist in editing it is at your discretion. However, if you feel menaced or harassed by this user you should contact an Admin right away, as such behavior is certainly counter-productive to an active volunteer community. — Jdcollins13 (talk) 16:15, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Mikes Gym logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Mikes Gym logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Triangle choke, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Matt Brown and Dave Morgan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Jdcollins13. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 22:08, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

NHL logo needs to be updated with proper version

Hi JD, this would be my first time ever messaging through Wikipedia, so I hope I do this right. I just wanted to call to your attention that I noticed that the logo featured on the NHL (National Hockey League) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NHL is an incorrect version, seems to be missing a gradient overlay. If you need the correct version, I have uploaded it to Brands of the World and is available to download http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/logo/nhl-2. Hi Luke, you did it right! as far as the logo goes I encourage you to be bold. Feel free to go to the File page here and upload the new version there (there is a link at the bottom). If you have any other questions feel free to ask. — Jdcollins13 (talk) 15:19, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

deOrphaning script

Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, Jim Cartar came to my user talk page and said he needed some help in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page (BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as Manishearth's OrphanTabs) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.

What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.

If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Opted-out of message delivery to your user talk page.
