Royal United Services Institute
Hello, and thank you for your edit at Royal United Services Institute.
Unfortunately, I have had to revert it as what you heard "in person" when attending the AGM is neither verifiable nor a Independent source. Verifiability - the ability for a reader to check the information, at any time in the future, at any time of day, anywhere in the world is one of the keystones of Wikipedia - whilst we also want reliable, independent, sources. When the AGM is reported on in a third party source, the information can be re-included, citing that source, so the information can be verified. - Arjayay (talk) 17:21, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
Greetings Bunny, thanks for returning the comment from Stewart. I've got the book now too but I forgot about your edit. I put the gist in the lead and the rest in the Analysis section with the citation. Thanks again Keith-264 (talk) 20:19, 5 February 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for contributing to the article Royal Welch Fusiliers. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Please help by adding more sources to the article you edited, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the claims (see here for how to do inline referencing). If you need further help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse, or just ask me. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 17:54, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
- I cited one book (which has now disappeared) and a fact sheet produced by the Royal Welch Museum, which I was provided with today and it was used on the WW2 website I frequent - as a way readers can read it in full. Yes, I didn't specify that was the origin. Should I? The fact sheet is not available on their website. The disbandment date was given as 1958, when in fact it was 1948. Bunnyson2 (talk) 18:15, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi - Please don't use blogs or forums as sources. I can see the problem: it would be helpful if the Royal Welch Museum put this fact sheet on their website. Dormskirk (talk) 14:07, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- I read as you recommended inline citations and amended the text accordingly - as a pointer to locate the fact sheet. Yes, it would be great if the museum did so, my experience is that they move very slowly and only rarely reply to emails (unless you pay up front). Bunnyson2 (talk) 14:15, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, that is my understanding as well. Thanks. Dormskirk (talk) 14:19, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- Why was the passage on the link to the USMC removed? I was able to find sources for that and cited them. I've now had a response from the Museum regarding that link. Bunnyson2 (talk) 10:20, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi - I only removed the passage because it seemed redundant because elements of the article were already cited to the USMC publication. That said, I have restored the material. Please note that I have moved some of the material to the section on amalgamation as I think it sits better there, but I don't have strong views if you want to move it back. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 11:33, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. If the Museum play ball I will let you know. 92.239.13.123 (talk) 13:18, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
