Archiving Guide
Thank you so much for the archiving guide. I was feeling a bit confused by the official WP archiving instructions and your step-by-step guide was brilliant! Thanks!! -Sarfa 17:11, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- That was really helpful. Thank you.Greglocock (talk) 03:57, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- This step-by-step archiving instruction is brilliant, i was having difficulty in archiving my messages which i've received on my talk page, but since i've found this instruction manual which is clearer than the WP archiving instructions, i am now able to archive my talk page when ever i want, i've also printed this instruction manual out so if i forget what to do, I'll use this instruction manual in the future. Adminship
I see you've been an editor here since 2006, and you've made a fair bit of edits, including a great many in the mainspace and article talk page sectors, so I was wondering if you ever though about running for adminship. I'm currently trying out WP:Admin coaching myself, and aside from the fact that my coach has gone AWOL for a great period of time, it appears to be a smooth process that may be effective in some cases. Based on your edits, I don't think you'd have any problem passing, and I think you'd make an outstanding admin. :) GO-PCHS-NJROTC (Messages) 02:35, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the "How to Archive a Talk Page by 5Q5". I just used it to create two archive pages for Stephen Fry hopefully its all present and correct! --Uksam88 (talk) 21:30, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
I was slightly confused...
I'm not sure if it is just me, since others found your archive instructions to be very clear, but I was confused when I got to the area about deleting the content of my talk page. Don't I need to copy and move it first? I think if the template moves stuff that is a certian age or whatever, maybe a line or two for people who are REALLY slow with code, like me, would help greatly.
On the plus side, your instructions allowed me to create the archive page, which is more than the Wiki instructions did. I just couldn't figure out how to get my stuff to the page. It has since been finished, with much help.
Thanks for your hard work. Zulualpha (talk) 12:54, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Compliment
Just wanted to say that your asterisked note at X-Men: First Class was an inspired way of getting all the information in about the dual names in an accurate, neutral way. My compliments to you. That was really sharp editing. With regards, --Tenebrae (talk) 22:37, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Archive of Wikipedia Talk pages
Do you know of any archive that includes a possibly extensive recording of Talk-pages discussion? In an ideal world.., these would be recordings of possibly long/extensive discussion, centered around a relatively small subset of Wikipedia articles: 10k-100k. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.171.142.163 (talk) 15:57, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
- For active articles with talk pages, you can access the history log by clicking on the link at the top of each talk page. I don't know why the decision was made on the following two deleted-article archive sites not to include the talk pages. Maybe to save space storage space. Nostalgia Wikipedia and Deletionpedia I think if there was a deleted talk page archive site it would be included as a See also link on Help:Archiving a talk page. If you ever find a link for a deleted talk page archive, place it there. 5Q5 (talk) 18:29, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Miss Teen International
I noticed that you added some materials with sources in the history of Miss Teen International. This is not related to the old Miss International in the 1960s. The existing Miss Teen International article in wikipedia started in 1993. If you look at the website of Miss Teen International, it states "the pageant started in 1993 and Sofia Andersson of Sweden was the first winner of Miss Teen International. The pageant was founded by Enrique González. Later It got acquired by Nikhil Anand from India." Also, there are many Miss Teen International pageants, here's another one.Richie Campbell (talk) 05:32, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- I responded on the Miss Teen International talk page. 5Q5|✉ 17:01, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- Enrique did not ceded the rights, there is indeed a contest called Miss Teen International in India but this has no relation to the old Miss International in the 1960s or to the contest that started in Costa Rica in 1993. "Mr. Enrique González is alive. I have written to him concerning Indian contest and he said that he never sold or transferred his rights to Nikhil Anand, this would be a scam case, in fact very serious. Gonzalez was in poor health due to his old age, an act that was taken advantage of by the person he claims to be the new owner." We will all feel better and will be better informed with the truth after knowing the version of Mr. González. I appreciate the disambiguation of the template. I would like to help edit and provide content about Miss Teen International in the 1960s and United States based pageant. Pageantopolis (talk) 05:32, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

- Dear Editor. I have proposed to create the disambiguation of the Miss Teen International article because there are several versions of the contest, some only with Facebook citations, they do not even have their registered brand or website. I feel that some are unfairly taking advantage of the prestige of the pageant and the effort put in by legally registered pageants such as Miss Teen International. Miss Teen Earth
Dear Editor, on several occasions the user Aayat1998, of Indian origin, has been deleting information or destroying articles. This time he moved the article from Miss Teen Earth, the official name of the pageant, to Miss Teen Earth International, since he intends to make believe that there is another Miss Teen Earth pageant and that it is a separate pageant organization. An administrator placed an indefinite protection on the article Miss Teen Earth, the same one that has been celebrated as such since 2012. As editor of the article, I request that it be renamed Miss Teen Earth since that is the real name of the contest and the title that the winner gets annually. Also that an administrator place a warning to the user Aayat1998, for wanting to maliciously to hinder the work of other editors. Yahsabaot (talk) 00:26, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the topic of beauty pageants is not a continuing area of interest of mine. I only revised some articles in the past because I found old newspaper stories that provided high-quality references for changes that needed to be made, and I will defend those edits in the future. I would suggest taking your concerns to an appropriate Noticeboard. I see that editor Rickyurs is active on Wikipedia, is listed as a member of WikiProject Beauty Pageants, and is familiar with India. I do not know him, but maybe he can assist you. Feel free to alert me in the future if vandalism occurs to edits I have made in this topic area in the past. Thanks. 5Q5|✉ 13:33, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
Skepticism and coordinated editing proposed decision posted
The proposed decision in the Skepticism and coordinated editing has been posted. Please review the proposed decision and draw the arbitrators' attention to any relevant material or statements. Comments may be brought to the attention of the committee on the proposed decision talk page. For a guide to the arbitration process, see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Guide to arbitration. An arbitration case regarding Skepticism and coordinated editing has now closed and the final decision is viewable at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:
- Rp2006 (talk · contribs) is warned against a battleground mentality and further incivility.
- Rp2006 is indefinitely topic banned from edits related to living people associated with or of interest to scientific skepticism, broadly construed. This topic ban may be appealed after six months have elapsed and every six months thereafter.
- A. C. Santacruz (talk · contribs) is reminded to remain collegial in editing and interacting with others.
- Roxy the dog (talk · contribs) is warned to remain collegial in editing and interacting with others.
- GSoW is advised that a presence on English Wikipedia, perhaps as its own WikiProject or as a task force of WikiProject Skepticism, will create more transparency and lessen some of the kinds of suspicion and conflict that preceded this case. It could also provide a place for the GSoW to get community feedback about its training which would increase its effectiveness.
- Editors are reminded that discretionary sanctions for biographies of living people have been authorized since 2014. Editors named in this decision shall be considered aware of these discretionary sanctions under awareness criterion 1.

Help
Dear Editor.
The Miss Teen Earth article needs to be protected, the user Aayat1998 has tried to change the name of the article and the content on several occasions, something similar to what happened in the Miss Teen International article. I would ask that my request be taken into account. Thank you very much. Kind regards Yahsabaot (talk) 06:55, 17 March 2022
- I understand your frustration, but as I replied to this same problem before, beauty pageants are not in my area of continued interest and I am busy off of Wikipedia. Adding a level of protection to the Miss Teen Earth article is not applicable because you and user Aayat1998 are both established editors. The two of you have had edit warring in the past. To protect an article from edit warring, you should research to see if it is appropriate to file a request at the Edit warring noticeboard or Dispute resolution noticeboard or go here: Wikipedia administrators willing to handle RevisionDelete requests. By the way, I am not an administrator. You have the same abilities I have, though I may have more experience. 5Q5|✉ 11:59, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
IMDB
Hello, 5Q5,
You keep bringing up IMDb in AFD discussions as if it is a reliable source of information. It's not, it's all user-generated content, like Wikipedia or social media. Please review Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources#IMDb which indicates where the consensus is about using IMDb in articles to demonstrate anything...it's not reliable. Thank you. Liz Read! - I've been a registered editor at IMDb for nearly 20 years. It is not like Wikipedia or social media. All content submitted to the site via a form process requires approval by staff before they publish it. Nothing is published directly by users. Even Wikipedia's own article on Amazon-owned IMDb acknowledges these points. 5Q5|✉ 11:05, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
