Your recent contributions

Hi again! I think you should say, like, "Use last name unless the article is known by names-and-patronymics instead of surnames." ⋆。˚꒰ঌ Clara A. Djalim ໒꒱˚。⋆ 13:39, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Clariniie: Which edits of mine and which Wikipedia policy or guideline are you referring to? Robby.is.on (talk) 16:16, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring to one of your edit summaries on František Šmahel and Nicolae Oaidă articles for example. ⋆。˚꒰ঌ Clara A. Djalim ໒꒱˚。⋆ 12:25, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I'm afraid I don't understand the issue. In both cases, my edit summaries indicated that I made the changes so that the articles would use the subject's last name – as required per MOS:SURNAME. Neither Šmahel nor Oaidă has patronymics. Robby.is.on (talk) 13:49, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The whole infobox on this cricketer is sourced to a specific entry on CricketArchive, where there is a "full name" as part of the entry. All cricket infoboxes should have a direct reference to either CricketArchive.com or espncricinfo.com, which carry similar information. Unless you're going to dispute every single article on individual cricketers, I suggest you revert. Johnlp (talk) 17:00, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation, @Johnlp:. I have self-reverted. Robby.is.on (talk) 19:25, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Questions regarding ambiguous nationality

Hello. Since we had a little discussion about whether to state the nationality of Thomas Strakosha as Albanian or leave it out in the short description, I was wondering about the reason you provided for leaving it out:

  • You know that being born in a country doesn't always mean being a citizen of that country, right? Do you distinguish between the two?
  • Also, why doesn't the rule currently apply to players like Pepe, Higuaín or Rakitić, as they were born in another country (and possess their citizenship as well)?

Hi @Xhulianoo:. Thanks for reaching out. :-) why doesn't the rule currently apply to players like Pepe, Higuaín or Rakitić I don't know but those article may have it wrong.
To be perfectly honest, I don't recall the exact reasoning for the convention I've been referring to. Others at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football surely would be better able to explain it in detail. Would you mind asking the questions there? Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 23:12, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Grzegorz Braun.

I am editing based on his words literally said about hanukah and Chabad. Have you any source that it was reffering to Polish Jews? Kojoto (talk) 21:05, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You have been reverting in violation of WP:BRD. Take it to the article Talk page so other editors can participate. Robby.is.on (talk) 21:16, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Francesco Palmieri

The non-notable footballer has been deleted, so I have created a dab page at Francesco Palmieri. If you want to remove the years from the footballer then feel free. GiantSnowman 19:25, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That's great. Thank you very much, @GiantSnowman:. I'll do that. Robby.is.on (talk) 20:20, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
