The date quoted is 1967. I suspect that this is the date that the rails were lifted - not the date the actual span was removed. I walked across the bridge in the early 70s (even walked underneath on the gangers' gangway).
The span was definitely gone by 2004 (photos from Coflein). Searches haven't come up with anything. Do get 1967 coming up on flickr pages etc but these look like they've been copied and pasted from Wikipedia...Robevans123 (talk) 20:46, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
