I just noticed that the Ruth I. Michler Memorial Prize may satisfy criterion 2 of WP:NACADEMIC, but I'm not sure if it qualifies as a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level., if anybody feels it does, feel free to remove the tag (but more GNG-worthy sources would still be nice) ASUKITE 15:57, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly, it seems precisely borderline. NACADEMIC says

Some less significant academic honors and awards that confer a high level of academic prestige can also be used to satisfy Criterion 2. Examples may include certain awards, honors and prizes of notable academic societies

AWM is definitely a notable academic society, but it's unclear to me if the Ruth I Michler prize is one of the "certain" prizes referred to.— Moriwen (talk) 16:14, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Michler prize is a major prize of the AWM; whether the AWM is a major-enough society for their main prizes to pass #C2 is more the question. I think Childs' case for WP:PROF#C1, through the high citation counts found on her Google Scholar profile, may be stronger. With two good-enough claims of notability through separate criteria (either one alone adequate for notability), I think this article is not problematic. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:24, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
